I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Nope. Modmatrix might become a future addition. It depends heavily on the implementation of multicore support, as the voice architecture literally as to become multitimbral for that. Modmatrix is too tricky atmhakey wrote:Did Tyrell's mod matrix make into DIVA - "Modifications"?
The Modifications panel contains an MS20-ish patchfield for modulation routings. Mind you, the original MS20 does not let you change the signal flow apart from the external input - it can't even do FilterFM. You can only rewire modulations! Same in Diva, but instead of the envelope/frequency follower she'll have an adder, an inverter, a lag generator and such stuff. Nothing too complicated and nothing that one couldn't change through menus on the panel anyway. While that's merely a gimmick for "completeness", the focus is clearly on the sound of the emulations.

Now wee need to HEAR a bit more
Would be really nice to hear some classic synth sounds. and maybe some not so classic ones
I can't wait to use DIVA with Valhalla ÜberMod by the way. I wonder which will be finished first
Cheers

Each oscillator has a selector for its octave (always 32" to 2"). When there's more than 1 oscillator, then the additional ones have a detune dial that spans -/+ 6 semitones.Bronto Scorpio wrote:Yep! That's really niceShabdahbriah wrote:I spy (with my little eye) a SCOPE button!!!
What is going on with the detune knob by the way? The labels seem confusing "7,9,-1,0,1,3,5"?
I guess the red markers indicate that the range goes beyond the original hardware?
Cheers
Dennis
Most of the time you'll only want to dial a few cents to detune an oscillator. The detune knobs always work in shift-drag mode for that reason, so the right amount of detune is always easy to achieve.
The -3 and -5 semitones positions are labelled 9 and 7 respectively in red colour to indicate the interval as seen from the octave below. Thus if you want a fifth tuning in the second oscillator, the 7 is easy to find.
We need to evaluate this though. If it's awkward then we'll drop it.

I'll try too noodle a bit this afternoon. Unfortunately we have retune a lot of volumes, so filter drive and resonance are often a bit out of whack at the moment. An example sound might however capture the gist of it...Bronto Scorpio wrote:Now wee need to HEAR a bit more

Okay, fair enough. It sounds like the patchfield will offer some interesting possibilities for experimentation.Urs wrote:Nope. Modmatrix might become a future addition. EDIT: Scratch that last bit - the patchfield bit is more-or-less cosmetic?

Some more innocent noodle (it ends strangely, I got interrupted by a phone call):

Unfortunately there's still a bug in the PWM... it would sometimes produce some low pops that don't belong there - they're not too audible in here. The settings are quite extreme though.
