I just tested the Windows version and it works nicely on Windows 7 332-bit and Ableton Live 8.2.2. On a Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU (4 x 2.4 GHz) a monophonic preset uses around 30% of CPU.
I just reprogrammed one of my own Moog Slim Phatty presets and did a short 1:1 comparison. Diva sounds really damn close to the real thing!!!
Only when i use a bigger amount of filter overload the Slim Phatty sounds much fatter. At a filter overdrive of around 20-25%there is almost no difference with Diva. The low end of Diva is great too opposing to most other softsynths.
I'll try to post a demo with a 1:1 comparison here soon. I'll try to reprogram a few other of my Slim Phatty presets.
I also like the different oscillator, filter and envelope models. Of course i have not checked all of those yet.

OMG I'm loosing it!
I don't know what to try 1st (the oscs, the filters.. envelopes... tons of other stuff
) ..
I can't believe it... DIVA's voice is beautiful!
...OK OK I pulled myself together.. than I turned the cutoff knob again .... OMG.!

If you wanna get chicks you don't have to get a motorcycle.. just get DIVA and a subwoofer!

CPU hit nothing like as bad as I feared, even at high filter settings.
Enough modulation options to do some more off the wall programming.
I was expecting an incremental increase in realism, but this sounds noticeably better than all of the other (now redundant) native emus.
The new gold standard in analogue emulation?

As ever, fantastic work. I think this has finally put to bed any desire I had left for (further) analogue machines. It'll be interesting to see which of the ones I still have survive this...

Please post some presets guys (espeicially Bronto), so the non synthies can try this.
Although playing with only the filters on the INIT/default patch had my room shaking.

Just a few and nothing special yet but enough to get an impression
Edit: Keep in mind that I made these presets with an earlier beta. They may sound different now!

The Little Phatty sounds slightly different. We have one too, it won't be all the same. Especially the resonance is less "attached" to the waveform.Ingonator wrote:I just reprogrammed one of my own Moog Slim Phatty presets and did a short 1:1 comparison. One voice uses around 30% CPU on my crappy laptop that can't even run Minecraft at a decent framerate... That's pretty good going really (I wasn't even expecting it to run)... The sound is achingly good, though, even on my crappy laptop speakers...

And to think I almost shelled out for the Minimonsta... there goes my evening (and probably my night).
Thanks for your hard work and generosity, Urs. (naturally, this extends to your entire team).
