Just tried the beta doing an electro bassline: OMFG, can't trust my ears!

O...M...G... Amazing. AMAZING
...I use to unisono lot of patches to make it fat, but this beast is fat right away with no stacking. Really sounds like some old amazing Jarre synths ...
Can't test it too much today as I have some school duties, but during a week I'l be in synth heaven!
(How long the beta will last btw? :/)

I really like this one. Sounds superbly fat. Like a real analog synth. I think this synth going to be super hit. My only complain is, it steals space button in FL Studio and studio one, like all your synth does. I know about FL's wrapper settings, but I don't want to lose mousewheel support. On S1, no can do..
I have some weird cpu spikes (jump to the 100% randomly) and the sound drops out randomly too. Otherwise, I didn't face any problems. Cpu usage was more lower than I expected. Congrats Urs, for another masterpiece!

That's great to hear. There's plenty to chew on in the meantime, anyway.Urs wrote:At some point, probably. hi folks,
I'm just about to try this out because i was away for the week end... seems to be promising but...
do Diva will be worth buying when we already have ACE , which to me is already an incredibly analog sounding softsynth... what do youy think? is DIVA just a simplier synth (i don't think ACE is too complicated to people who understand how substractive synthesis works) or is it really better sounding than ACE?
Anyway, will try this out just for the korg MS20 filters, just to compare it with my real MS20
Cheers
Vinz

I'm just testing the beta and Urs, you've created great Synths, but this is my favorite now. Sounds incredible!
Great work
cheers!

I had to sell ACE in order to afford to buy Diva... taking a chance that it was going to be as good as I thought it was.vinz89 wrote:hi folks,

Well, I've played with it for maybe twenty minutes so far and am convinced I made the right (tough) decision.
That's not to say Ace isn't fantastic sounding, just that Diva is more up my analog alley (so to speak).

Like already mentioned i tried to reprogram one of my Moog slim Phatty presets on Diva to do a 1:1 comparison. Of course the Phatty is slightly different to the Minimoog so i didn't expect Diva to sound 100% identical.
Both examples use the same MIDI dat and no FXs (internal or external). The Slim Phatty example starts around 1:31 mins:
https://rapidshare.com/files/2939452791 ... son_01.zip
I have published a zip file of the wav file as in the MP3 i get some strange background noise which only seems to happen at some really "fat" sounds.
In the Slim Phatty example i have used around 20% of the filter overdrive. With full overdrive it sounds much more fat than the Diva example which could be corrected with a proper filter drive in a future version or an external overdrive FX (i checked it with the Schwa Oligarc Drive).
With few or no Resonance Diva sounds much fatter of course but no Resonance was not what i wanted in this preset...
IMO Diva sounds much better than any other Moog emulation before and i have not even tested the other filter models or the polyphonic mode...

After trying DIVA maybe you will agree with some saying that DIVA is something else! It just... feels like.... a dreamvinz89 wrote:do Diva will be worth buying when we already have ACE , which to me is already an incredibly analog sounding softsynth...
DIVA is the real deal as far as I can tell!

it sounds like a good representation - quite close to real analogue on some sounds. On other sounds it sounds as a well made emulating plugin (such as the OP-X) tends to sound. Punchy but a little hard/unforgiving and not having the sweet highs with analogue. Found my ears cringing a little when I opened the filter on full from the high freq...
However - seems as good as the best native out there in a cool package.

Best listened to at medium volume with a sub woofer
Using only Diva (with Bronto Scorpio's patches). 7 frozen Divas
. No EQ or comp on individual tracks. Valhalla Shimmer reverb is the only other effect used on the main voice leadish-pad sound.
On the mix buss:
A Baxter EQ (Analog Balance preset)> light mix buss compression > Baxter EQ (Expensive High End preset)
Make more patches, and we will use them
