Definitely. I'm just pleased my 3 year old laptop can run it nicelyabstractcats wrote:PeteJames wrote:Got up to 60% on my 2008 Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.8Ghz (4GB Ram) - Mostly around 40% (Ableton Live CPU meters). Yeah is CPU heavy but I'm not arsed. I like what URS is doing - pushing the boundaries. There's no reason I can't live with one instance or two and either freeze or record if It get me the sound I want at a sweet price. I think Urs is going to be causing a worldwide spike in 4 & 8 cores sales with this babyLove the interface too - very simple and nice to use yet so flexible. Nice and big too
Urs and co. more then make up for the cost of CPU on sound quality and options and ease of use. So, yeah, I'll deal with recording it,if need be, as well.

Playing with it now, Urs. She's beautiful!

Dern, I had some chores to do, now it looks like they're not gonna get done...
There's something about these envelopes that's just awesome. So punchy...from what I've read about analog gear, it sounds like voltage can sometimes play tricks with the volume at the beginning and end of the envelopes...do I hear this being emulated?

Hi there,
Ok, i just tried DIVA yesterday evening and... i understand all the hype about it... sure it sounds awesome and it really nails the sound of the gear it emulates... at least the ms20, a synth that i know very well (except maybe for the overdrive that the oscs produce in the filter input when the mix pot is above "7"... and i think that's one of the essential charachteristic of the MS sound...).
The only downside for me is... the CPU!
Damn this thing is very demanding and very processor hungry!!! i just can't use 2 voices with long release time in fast mode with my 4 years old core2duo...
Also, i get sticky notes when playing mono or legato modes...
Cheers
Vinz

I haven't had time to play with it enough yet, but I tried reproducing a couple of my favourite Slim Phatty patches and while it sounded different, it was certainly just as good, analog sounding and punchy !
I actually have a feeling it's going to end up replacing it
One thing's for sure, I'm buying this on wednesday !!

And, regardless of the demonstrate/s issue, that sentence just is not correct English (if you think it is, then you've spent too long thinking in another language)! Urs explicitly asked for a read through, I thought that was the kind of thing he'd want pointing out. I guess not...

I just read this hilarious version of the blurb at beatsandstuff:
"The oscillators, filters and envelopes intimately help components institute in whatever of the enthusiastic monodical and contrapuntal synthesizers of yesteryear. Modules crapper be integrated and matching so you crapper physique hybrids, but what sets DIVA unconnected is the trend credibility of the linear sound. This comes at the outlay of quite a broad CPU-hit, but we conceive it was worth it: Diva is the prototypal autochthonous code synth that applies methods from industrialized journeying emulators (search for "PSpice") in realtime! Especially the activity of our zero-delay-feedback filters, when pushed to the limit, demonstrates the advantages of this start approach.
The beta edition entireness without regulating until Dec 31st. Become an primeval adopter, endeavor an astir persona in utilization as we supply this child to state over the incoming some weeks…
