In my experience, my Arturia Minimoog takes a much bigger slice of my cpu pie

Yes, but it's on the todo list, alongside multicore support and stuff...djanthonyw wrote:Would it be possible to have an option to make Diva always render at best quality?

We have been evaluating Osc1 -> PW/Shape, but that added more trouble than goodness
It was a tough decision to make Osc1 the master for everything, even though it's commonly Osc 2 or 3. For that reason we swapped waveforms and all. The most difficult thing in the design process was keepng consistency. I'm glad that no-one cried out because there's no option to use Triple Osc with a highpass filter. There's also no option to use feedback with a highpass (other than the one in the multimode filter of course). That's because we had to model the feedback and consequently the VCA into the filter simulation.
I think what I want to say is, I'd be glad if we could leave the architecture as it is for now, and maybe discuss higher degrees of complexity some time next year, and/or in conjunction with ACE/Berlin Modular.

(It does sound nice, doesn't it? The synth, I mean, not the thought of Lucifer in a parka and mittens...)

I understand completely. It's not a must have feature for me, in fact I'm always surprised when you are willing to implement my feature request. The features I crave always seem to bring out the ugly side of synths that devs typically prefer not to expose.Urs wrote:The most difficult thing in the design process was keepng consistency. You should hear what happens to my SH-2 when I send the phones output to the filter CV input I added.

I find easier to believe that Urs just signed deal with devil then this filters being computed digitally... Urs, tell us truth. You got bungch of real minimogs connected to cloud and all the sound is outsourced!

Hi,
Today we downloaded DIVA and no one is lying about what this chameleon synthesizer is capable of. This is a real gem in "VSTi-land". 1up for Urs!
Check out our demo if you like:

btw: This is the raw sound of DIVA, no other vsti's, onboard-eq, or vst's are used only a limiter on the masterbus

sure thing, she's already gorgeous, but people, oh well, they want more and more, it's in our bloodUrs wrote: I think what I want to say is, I'd be glad if we could leave the architecture as it is for now, and maybe discuss higher degrees of complexity some time next year, and/or in conjunction with ACE/Berlin Modular.
funny thing, I had heard more than once that real analog synths usually have to be highpassed to a degree to fit in a mix (don't own an analog meself), and I think it's the same case with Diva. too... fat... for my poor... mix... I believe them now

Nice synth!
Does the beta have a demo limitation? In EigenD (an open source host https://github.com/Eigenlabs/EigenD optimized for Eigenharps) arbitrary notes are just not played. (Happens in poly mode where all notes in a chord are sent on individual channels and also in single channel mode, where everything is sent on just one channel - e.g. 1. Can also be reproduced without chords when just playing one note repeatedly. Other synths - e.g. Zebra 2 - don't show this behaviour.)

Found out that the behaviour of the Diva in EigenD somehow depends on the mood in which she enters the door:
After loading the plugin everything works flawlessly in some cases. (And if it works then it stays that way until you reload the plugin). If unloaded and loaded again random notes may be dropped. (Also stays in that state until reloading) After another reload of the plugin it may work again and so on (pretty much a 50:50 chance).
