OK, can someone please check out the bug thread to see if you are experiencing the "deadly bug" :P with Rev 360 on Win7
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 57#4726757

..and turn down the volume so you don't blow up your speakers.

I had an almost religious experience in the studio yesterday running Diva -> Slate RC Tube channel -> Vertigo VCS demo -> Slate RC Tube mixbus. The hours just vanished. Extremely inspirational sounds.

Definitely pre-ordering this before xmas.

Cheers!

Hee hee - exactly what Ive jsut been doing. Using Tube on the lows, trident on highs and Brit N on the mids with 4k on the buss....lovely smooth sound. Will say RCTube was biting the bottom end quite nastily wiuth Diva, not a bad thing,. just needed to trim the input as wanting to apply fmor drive to the out...

My moneys coming now :/

Indeed! It is hard to make something that does not sound good. And when it hits a sweet spot it is breathtaking! I take the default patch, make a couple quick tweaks and sit and play for 45 minutes then remember I had something I was going to do... hehehe

<OT>btw, thanks for your post and audio example about Valhalla. I bought it from that recommendation without even demo'ing it and it is an incredible no brainer for that price! </OT>

Very nice synth, but still far from that analog sound which it tries to emulate.
The treble still has that digital harshness, and lacks the musicality of a real analog.
The envelopes could be snappier and smoother. Find it really hard to program those tasty thump basses.
The ms-20 filters are nice, but far from sounding like the real deal. Here Korg's emulation wins hands down.
When the resonance is pushed on higher frequencies I miss that sizzling smooth sound.
Lacks any sort of air. Might be an idea to emulate the "humming" and circuit noise of the different analog synths. To me this is a big part of the analog magic - playing the keyboard and getting that "3D" sound.

DIva is definitely a step in the right direction and I'm sure it will evolve into greatness. :)

That's the plan! (Diva stamps her feet and claims perfection already. I almost agree!)

Just made the pre-order purchase thing! :)

Hoping to get some more time to play with her this evening.

Urs or Howard could we get a good rough estimate of what we will be looking like in the preset department over the next few weeks and also the next few months? Thanks so much and congratulations on maybe the best sofy synth I've ever heard.
Any special kind of sounds you're looking for? I've come up with a number of presets while playing with it :)
All kinds. Especially pads, poly synths, plucks

Damn credit where it's due. Diva has exceeded my expectations in sound and options...I was saving for Cytomics Drop and UBK's 1 when released on VST...but sigh u-he gets to eat turkey + cranberry sauce this christmas, I may now just afford the stuffing lmfao. Have to stop eating for a bit.. ;' ;)

You must be kidding. Not even the Monotron filter is as close to any of our MS20s as Diva.

(on second thought, maybe you've only tried draft mode?)

Post

I'm not. :) I could try to do a fair comparison between DIva, ims-20 and the original.
To me the original filters had a juicier and more musical resonance and the overall tone and saturation is darker.
Of course every ms-20 is different so that might be the case (the one we have at the studio is not in mint condition).

Over at Gearslutz the reactions are a bit more "balanced" and quite few members find the filters to sound a little too harsh and tad less musical than their hardware counterparts.

UPDATE: I have used the divine option for mono sounds (my poor iMac) and of course the sound quality and detail are awesome!
Is there a reason you have not modelled the envelopes of the Korgs? Or am I missing something? (I really love the envelopes shapes of Korg's vintage classics.

BTW I have already bought a Diva licence, so I'm really just trying to give some constructive feedback.

Actually, with a slightly more... tactfully chosen purple, and the middle bit in just the right pale pink, I think she'd look very pretty.

So far xoxos' Aurora is the only synth I've got with a girly colour scheme :uhuhuh:

What on earth are you smoking? I want some of that shit! :D

On a more serious note, I've had my fair share of play with both an MS-10 and 20.. Never have I had such strong dejavu feelings as when playing with DIVA.

Are you SURE you aren't getting your revisions mixed up? Try revision 2 if that's your thing.

Cheers!
