I havent read the whole thread, just about the last days pages. But willl the final product use less cpu then the beta do right now? Will it be optimized?

Diva does sound lovely but it's just too much for this CPU. I had a quick play with some of the pre-sets and it runs something close to twice as hot as ACE does - meaning that a good lot of the sounds max out. Good luck with it all though and I'll come back to buy a copy of DIVA for a faster computer, a few years time, when this laptop falls over.

It would be great if you could squeeze some of DIVA tech into z2 and thoroughly awesome if Berlin Modular isn't much more hungry than ACE

thanks heaps for all the noise makers U-HE make - the finest sounding synths i've ever heard : )
It does depend on the type of patch - for pads and anything with long release it's bound to eat cpu but some of my basses and leads manage 16 easily voices at Divine quality

Not much. It will just spread voices across all your cores (currently it supports just a single core), but it will still be a very demanding synth, since it's already been optimized to death.

Urs, you've got a master piece here.
There's so much packed in DIVA! A true Aladdin's Cave of analogue goodness.

Any manual? :) I can figure out 90% of it, but the remaining bits are a mystery.

DIVA
PSPICE IS NICE

Features:

Sound of a generation captured and distilled into a devine sauce (source?).

Optional smoke generator available so you can freak your mates when playing one note chords.

Customers must sign disclaimer when purchasing product that indemnifies u-he against hardware failures.

Has a sticker saying not safe for children.

Comes with a fire extingisher.

Not dishwasher safe.

Has option for warning sounds such as klaxons and sirens or Scottie saying "she'll not take it more" when playing more than two note chords.

Do not drink and dial.

Batteries sold separately.

Short three week training course available for power users.

Slippery when wet.

She's a bad girl and will take all your cpu can give and will still be shouting more, more, more.

Marvel at her sheer power as the three note bass chord melts your rig.

Postscript:

Sales quickly die off as everybody realises that computers will not be powerful enough to run one instance of Diva on draft setting until 2015.

Users have to rent time on supercomputer clusters to render their projects offline in devine quality.

I'm trying to remember if I have attempted to try Diva before. I have a 2 year old iMac with Cubase LE4. When I attempted to download Diva, I got this message:

There is no application set to open the document "Diva.component".

Anyone know how to help me?

A .component file is an audio unit; you might want the .vst version?

xh3rv,
Thank you for responding! I should have mentioned I also get this statement:

There is no application set to open the document "Diva.vst".
You can hear my original music at this link: https://www.soundclick.com/artist/defau ... dID=224436

put it here...
HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST

The files you downloaded are plugins without an installer, you must manually place the .vst in the VST directory.

DIVA is not a standalone Application; you must then start your DAW accepting and validating VST or AU Plug-ins.
