he is talking about phase reset of the osc's so each note has the same attack...hersoot wrote:I, too, would like see multiple triggering in mono mode. BTW that feature does belong on analog synths. For example: the ARP 3620 keyboard (keyboard for the ARP 2600) has a Trigger Mode that can be switched between Single and Multiple. In multiple mode the amp envelope of a held key is retriggered when other keys are played. Only the envelope is retriggered─the pitch of the first held key doesn't change and the subsequently played keys don't make a sound of their own.djones wrote:I know it really doesn't belong on an analogue synthesizer, but having the ability to re-trigger oscillators would make this synth perfect for 'tight' baselines.
Maybe I'm the only one here, but I'd be very happy if such a function will be added with a future update.
I think VAZ synths have Multi-retrigger envelopes and the same with timeWARP2600. It's used in some Reaktor synths and I've been able to simulate it to some extent with duo mode and oscillator sync in Oddity and Tyrell.

mystran wrote:Well, you can certainly do it with most modular oscillators (well, anything with patchable sync input) in analog too by patching gate to the oscillator sync input. As long as the oscillator syncs on rising edge it'll work fine; alternative if the oscillator syncs on falling edge, send the gate through an inverter first. If you patch it through a counter you can also get stuff like reset on every other note.djones wrote:I know it really doesn't belong on an analogue synthesizer, but having the ability to re-trigger oscillators would make this synth perfect for 'tight' baselines.
I've actually done this a few time even if I usually prefer free running.
This is all way above my head.
Makes me realize how much I don't know about analog stuff at all:-)
But thanks for explaining.

The beta sounds just fantastic.
Thank you!!!
To be honest, I almost never buy a synth. But Diva with microtuning support, I'm going to buy it when it's out
Thanks again!
Btw, one small suggestion.
Please make a checkbox next to the .tun setting that keeps the current microtuning when changing patches. (or instead of a checkbox an option in a menu or something, like Z3ta+ 2.1 does for instance)
Otherwise one has to load the .tun file again for every preset (annoying when browsing/trying out patches)

http://soundcloud.com/reflektor-6n6p#play
there's four divas in there
all fighting to be heard
three arped by kirnu
and on triggered by a single note
all monophonic
all rendered 'cos my cpu (like going back to a pentium
)
haven't had this much fun since i had all those synths @ nearly 20yrs ago

Just had a short play with DIVA. Do I want it? YEZ, do I need it, ah er I gotta think about that, if I don't buy this now it's going to cost me more later.. I basically am in the mood to buy I have until 31 December, so ja I'll get DIVA This is going to be a beautiful relationship ACE UHBIK Filterscape Diva, Bazille.
I figure if the guy is NICE, and TALENTED and FAIR in pricing, AND has a GOOD TEAM then it's a safe bet.. Just remember to treat your selves to a good rest once in while!! Come up to Copenhagen, and chill out!

I was always a little bit sceptical about all this U-he rave... but now...
I'm in love with Diva... it really sounds lovely... I've spent last night with her and want her to be mine... mine... all mine!
great work Urs and Clemens!

Cool thanks a lot man.jumper24 wrote:Yes i have tested it.'jupiter8 wrote:This i'm curious about. Have you tested it to the limit of what your computer is capable off ? Because there's 6 cores (unless i'm mistaken) and 6 hyperthreading cores (or whatever it's called). My guess is you can "only" run 6 times 4-8 voices but i don't really know. But i sure would like to find out!jumper24 wrote:Diva also pre-ordered here. It just sounds awesome !
I have a 980x based system, and i can run about 4-8 voices in "great" or "devine" mode per instance/thread. (there is total 12 threads on the 980x!)
- And just did again for you
Here is 12 instances of Diva, all playing 8 notes at "Devine" accuracy. If i turn the resonance up, i can not play all 8 notes.. Then only 4-6 notes per instance.'
I can almost run 24 instances/6 voices at "great" accuracy
EDIT:
And this is at 128samples buffer on 2x RME AES32e

Jeez! I just tried Diva really for the first time.
The filters sound like warm butter oozing out of my speakers.
I compared it to some of my favourite VST's analog sounding synths and Diva sounds no doubt the best so far, especially the filters. The squelching filter at high resonance sound very analog, with a life on its own and electricity flowing through.
Amazing job Urs!

Urs can we do some patch requests for the factory bank, from famous songs of yesteryear?

I second that... for me this is the spirit of Diva, and as much as I appreciate the sheer flexibility of Zebra, Ace etc, I'd prefer that Diva stays true to the concept and doesn't get bloated with a never ending supply of parameters and options.Urs wrote:
I think Diva should stay as true to being a virtual analogue as possible.
I would, however, not be adverse to other analog synth models making their way into Diva, if they complimented the concept.
As previously mentioned, there are other plug-ins (by U-he and others) that can do 'everything', why not use those and keep Diva as the niche beauty she is?

Couldn't agree more. The way I would like to see Diva develop would be for it to become a product that is similar in concept to Arturia's Origin; where you can mix and match components from a plethora of modeled analog technologies. Of course some of this modelled goodness should find it's way into Ace, Berlin Modular & Zebra (and for that matter into the Uhbik effects suite) but I think Diva should remain true to it's original conception.taoyoyo wrote:I second that... for me this is the spirit of Diva, and as much as I appreciate the sheer flexibility of Zebra, Ace etc, I'd prefer that Diva stays true to the concept and doesn't get bloated with a never ending supply of parameters and options.Urs wrote:

I've just used Diva on an official Little Dragon remix and I must say it's the most fun I've had with a VI for a long time. I dearly love the XILS Lab suite and the upgrade to Imposcar was stella (especially the overlay of Oberheim technologies) but for sheer ease of use coupled with richness of results, Diva is an absolute winner (even at this early stage in the beta program).
Can't wait to see how this beauty develops in the coming months.
