Changes 472->475
removed some unused parameters from automatble list
added tuning for stacked voices (+/- 24 semitones)
added 6 voices as max stack
added undo/redo
fixed LFO no-reset bug
improved gui and naming consistency
swapped yellow "!" for less obtrusive "M"
rendered gradients for Win version
(if you have productions with automation: Render those tracks first before updating, parameter automation may be messed up due to changes)
Enjoy,
Urs
Tomorrow: swapping black modulation labels, trying to get 64-bit VST Win running...

Good - but even better would be something like the ring system in Massive and Circle where the ring tells you not only what is modulating what but also determines the amount and range.swapped yellow "!" for less obtrusive "M"

Was thinking about that... might be a good candidate for a future update.aMUSEd wrote:Good - but even better would be something like the ring system in Massive and Circle where the ring tells you not only what is modulating what but also determines the amount and range.swapped yellow "!" for less obtrusive "M"
For now I considered it most important to keep the module panel free of any clutter that has nothing to do with yesteryear's synth icons...

Urs, thanks for the new beta!
A question: Is there a way to modulate the pulsewide for a triple VCO ("Minimoog") or has the shape modulation a similar effect?

URS!
loveee the synth.. very juicy
thanks for adding the undo/redo button, but is there any chance to getting a "COMPARE" button a la soundtoys? I think this feature would be insanely helpful with DIVA and UHBIK in getting the sound juuuuuust right

Just a note to those who did presets with the last beta.
The Lfo reset fix in the Dec 18 beta, has altered much of the Lfo attack, and movement behavior of those made using the previous beta.
Most of mine sounded as before just by switching the lfo2 (most used) from "gate" to "single".

Too right it is. And it's a point missed by several other key software developers. The way Diva works right now is the right way to do it. It's more expressive, it sounds better and as Howard says it's the default behaviour of the original analogue synths.Howard wrote:All the old synths (even the polyphonic ones) at Urs' place "sing" i.e. don't always retrigger from zero. It's a feature, a rather important characteristic of old hardware synths.
I and several others I know have been bothering various software designers over the years with this very point. We have been successful in some cases but not all I'm afraid to say.
An optional 'return to zero' mode could be made I guess. The Memorymoog allows it as an option and some of the stringers do it too. But, in my opinion, it is horrible for a monophonic synth and doesn't sound right in a poly either.
From an engineering standpoint returning an analogue envelope to zero the instant a new note is pressed does actually create some problems. Firstly, you have to remove any stored charge on the envelope's timing cap. Not impossible, but to do so near instantly would be tricky on many older style EG circuits. Secondly, any abrupt change in EG output, such as a forced RTZ, would create discontinuities in the output signal and introduce clicks. The latter point also applies to any software synth too.

Two thumbs up for this idea. This would be fantastic for Diva, Zebra ... etc.aMUSEd wrote:Good - but even better would be something like the ring system in Massive and Circle where the ring tells you not only what is modulating what but also determines the amount and range.swapped yellow "!" for less obtrusive "M"
