I can't speak to your needs but I've recently been working with Num3's arp a lot more and it has some incredible capabilities. It requires more setup than most other arpeggiators but you can get it to do some very cool stuff when combined with the Gate and CV processors. Again it does require a lot of setup, but I've been able to emulate a lot of the features of Zebra's arp including per-step glide (using tied v. untied notes). The arp in Numerology is kinda basic in some ways but since it can be used with other modules, it can do much more than meets the eye.

Regrading Bazille's sequencer, I agree. Now external midi sequencer can do what it does because MIDI can't operate at audio rates. Now if only we could use the oscillators as clock sources for the sequencer. *hint-hint*

Thanks for extending the intro offer Urs, that really helps me out right now ;)

Have a great holiday :D

On the Mac side of things there's another secret weapon though: Numerology, the only piece of software I would consider to be a proper sequencer instead of a glorified piano roll editor (also available as AU and VST plugins for use within your host of choice). Excellent for step-sequencing and arpeggiating until the fat lady sings.

Tbh, I don't like distinguishing between arpeggiator vs. step sequencer, I consider them to be basic archetypes, whereas I prefer to use more complex hybrid modular sequencing thingies (for which I like Numerology, Max and the like).
My weapons of choice when it comes to step sequence/arpeggiation duties. Numerology is such a perfect partner to DIVA (there's already been a lengthy discussion on the Five12 boards singing DIVA's praises). And Max, especially in it's 'Max For Live' guise is such a powerful tool when combined with DIVA.
Some things cannot be done in the host. Take the Bazille step sequencer... it can do things internally you simply could not do externally.
I'd love to get to know it better. Unfortunately the VST gui is cutoff on the mac. Right in the moddle of the step sequencer! d'oh! :(
Use the AU

I find the arp totally buggy and dropping notes and it does not work right with switching notes or holding chords and so on and so on. I'm generally pretty good at figuring stuff out but I finally gave up on Numerology as an arp. IMO it needs a complete re-write of the arp idea. I don't think Jim really understands the difference between sequencer and arp...

Perhaps you could send me a project if you somehow managed to get a reliably functional basic arp setup in Numerology.

And yes, osc's as clock sources for the Bazille step sequencer would be my request too (plus a few other things) ;)

You think you have it bad.. try working on an Athlon x2. :P

U-he software is a significant reason why I'm planning on an upgrade when Ivy Bridge is released. :hihi:

The mindset is different from most (all?) other developers.. U-he is not compromising on sound quality and is planning more for the future. :)

I was hoping for something like this for years! A synth that sounds so good that I WANT to render it because it's worth it. And here is Diva! Right now I'm using a modern but rather low-mid range laptop with an i3 something. A few instances with some not so CPU hungry presets are possible. The rest is freeze/render.
Right now I'm on the website of some other developer and listen to some preset demo there. Good sound design but I'm so spoiled now, soundquality wise. :hihi: Diva is so gooood. Thanx a lot, Urs!

no problem here on mac: just do one time a resize of the screen by clicking right mouse button for the popup menu anywhere in the plugin. you get a menu with 7 sizes to select. select the default one 1018 x 659 or another and you will see the full screen of the plugin bazille.

Hey, thanks man, never tried that!

Congratulations with the final release Urs...

...my only complaint about Diva is that she keeps me up all night :)

I purchased and installed but am getting

"file couldn't be created to C:\program files\vstplugins\synth\diva.data\com.u-he.diva.midimap.txt"

while launching Cubase 6 (both x64 and x86). Cubase then blacklists Diva. I know how to un-blacklist. But I don't know what's causing the error. The diva.data directory is there with all the files.

Win7 x64

Any ideas?
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer
