To me DIVA is quite the best sounding vst plugin I've used until now (besides Zebra2 and impOSCar2), and with it it's easy to create sounds that are as pleasing to my ear as sounds from my Roland JX-8P; plus DIVA fits into the mix equally well.

Roland synths from the first half of the 1980s really have a special sound, very rich and warm. I think it's not at least that sound that made 1980s tracks by producers like Trevor Horn and Thomas Dolby so good sounding (not to forget albums like Michael Jackson's "Thriller" or Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly").

I've made a short demo track with 4 instances of DIVA plus a rhythm track (sampled drums). It's quite 1980s style, and sounds a bit like Paul Hardcastle, Midnight Star etc.

Very funky indeed. Good choice of sounds, and really groovy.

So, just no presets in the demo, but lots in the "sale" version, right? :?: I'm too busy to program this thing... Ha! :)

Same presets found in both. The demo is the full version, just not registered.

Hmmm... my demo has no presets? :( Er, I must still have the beta in there or something???

Because Diva's oscillator tuning pots are 5-turn and cover the entire pitch range, tuning via MIDI presents problems.

In the Triple VCO, when Osc 1 and Osc 2 are set to the same octave range you cannot tune the oscillators to zero-beat unison unless both ranges are 8'.

For example, if Osc 1 and 2 are both 8', you can MIDI tune Osc 2 to zero-beat unison with Osc 1. However, if Osc 1 is 8' and Osc 2 is any range other than 8', they cannot be zero-beat in tune via MIDI. The 128 MIDI steps do not correspond exactly to the -24.00, -12.00, 0.00, 12.00, 24.00 values that Diva uses to represent octave spacing.

It's the same when you try to tune the oscillators a fourth or a fifth apart. You can't do it exactly via MIDI.

Perhaps if the Range was separate from Detune, so that all 128 MIDI steps could be spread out over a single octave, for each octave Range setting.

Got my DIVA last night. Sounds great, however lot of bugs and problems with Win Vista 64 bit and Cubase 6.0.5 x64. Some sounds are cracking and crashing. Hope for the soon update.

Very nice! I especially like the synth-brass that comes in around 0:49.

What do you mean by crashing? - We don't have any reports of Diva crashing.

Crackles btw. could be the copy protection. When you open a new instance, does the edit display on teh top say "registrered to [yourname]"?

Regarding the volume spikes perceived mostly on Win64, we're onto it. Update hopefully early next week.

Thanks for reply,

I thought the same, it sounded like demo version, but there is my name as registered user. Did not have to much time to play with but will spend some time this weekend and will let you know about details.

Thanks G, it's Friday :)

My apologies if this has been asked/answered before, but is a 64-bit VST version for OS X in the works and if so, when will it be available? It is working fine with the 32-64 bit bridge in Cubase 6.0.5, but I would prefer using Diva without the bridge (since I am playing with Diva, I have become very CPU-cycle-aware. :P). Cheers, Jack

Finally got the presets in there... Er, this is really all "warm and cuddly." I started thinking Soft Machine after playing some of the presets. Need a new computer though... :)

IIRC, Urs was talking about 64bit VST3 format rather than plain old VST.
