I am evaluating possibilities here. Some things in Malström seem worth the hassle, others not so much. For something like that the samples would have to be heavily pre-processed.

I think in Malström the grains can have different size/tune... this wouldn't work with the Osc FX in Zebra.

Well, I'll give stuff a try once the sample engine is finished... 8)

Hey cool! Great to hear your looking into the possibility. I don't know that much about how Maelstrom works actually, I was just throwing it out as an example of what I understood as using granular sampling for an oscillator. I don't really know how it's functioning is different from say symptohm, absynth or some of the reaktor granular synths.

But I do like the results that this kind of sound can give, very different from any VA osc, or additive, or FM sounds.

And cheers for sharing your plans with us, I think it only inspires more confidence in zebra's bright future!

My sentiments exactly. Being able to use sample sources will be an excellent addition to Zebra. It's great to hear Urs is actively pursuing such functionality!

The Frame OSC from Krishna(Devine Machines) is pretty nice..sadly DM dissapeared from the market it seems and i dont even got the chance to download the synth i paied for..grrr

But its a cool feature and synth lol..basically that one is just about wavetable synthesis..maybe you know that one Urs?
