do i have enough power to do complete songs? 2012-01-03T18:19:04+00:00 ive got a quadcore running at 2.6/ 2.7 gigs so since mu uses only one core, (or is it like reason using 1 core graphics/1 core processing. hence sorta 2 cores. is that enough power to do a complete song. when i say complete, i mean, not like the extremely simple demo songs, but something you could hear that might be heard on the radio. mutools sounds very good no doubt about that but, since i just started using it, i cant make a well informed decision whether or not this can be comfortably done. id like to see some powerful demo tracks other then the simple 4 track songs in the demos. ill tell you that my current song which uses a 2osc bassline synth and one mudrum uses about 6.8 cpu. the problem im having is that i cant just do a full song to test mutools because it only allows 4 tracks. so i need to know given my pc is it powerful enough to make some full songs. when i say full, i mean, a bass track, 3 lead tracks, 1 or 2 pad tracks, a few atmo, a few fx tracks, and a couple of mudrums. hence a complete track. im really trying to find a replacement for reason. since mu only uses1 core, the closest thing i could compare mu to is reason 3/4. my plan is to do all my work in mu like i did in reason. in the old days, reason 3/4 was very powerful for having one core, you hardly ever ran out of cpu till they added thor. what do people think of mus synths and fx as far as cpu is concerned. im not looking for amazing and advanced synths and effects anyway. after all, if you compared mu to an 80s or 90s hardware studio you would have the same power as in mu. and people did amazing things. also, i notice that mux is said to be able to build fx modules. would you consider the parametric eq, or compressor fx to work like the real thing. like wise other built fx? what exactly can mu do? if possible id like to see some power user songs. and please specify what kind of pc you have too. or tell me if i have enough power. i mean 1 core, is only so powerful. i the one cores go up to 3.2 ghz. so 2.6 is still pretty powerful? thanx.
