Dune and Diva use a little tabbing here and there, maybe not as much as other synths, but it is hard to avoid these days. From our synths, Hydra, EKS and X-Poly still use a single-page UI.

DUNE is also nice to program. Try the Access Virus Powercore. What's that, like 5 pages. (But seriously, I'd try a 10 page tabbed synth that could sound like a Virus - but let's not get into that again)

Overly complicated? :?
That was just me trying to be funny. Overly complicated if you compare to synths with only one page.
Never mind. Where is my coat.
Oh sorry. I guess sarcasm is over my head this morning.......... :hihi:

I agree. And the best sounds are always very simple, the magic is usually in melody/automation and raw sound quality (high quality filter, oscillator and modulation). So there's no point adding huge amounts of stuff to a VSTi - except that's what people are looking for when they're buying a synth...

I created MauSynth because last VST I've really enjoyed using was NI:s Pro-53. I even omitted the third envelope, which was probably the toughest design choice.

Another freebie synth with great fun UI is Charlatan, and a good example of a well-designed feature-packed synth is Diva.
you understand my feelings exactly. gonna try mau, i charlatan is pretty damn cool. diva is too cpu intensive as is tyrell but see, THATS the kind of synths i miss synth like tyrell only less cpu intensive ones. if when i get a new pc tyrell will be my fav synth.

Plenty of single page synths. I happen to like those myself.

Poly-Ana, Tyrell, Oddity, imposcar, minimonsta, arturia emulations, synplant, fxpansion synths, DIVA (mostly), tone2 (mostly), ultra analog, TAL synths, etc. etc. It goes on and on.

voyager.
Now that's a one page synth.
..what goes around comes around..

but what im saying is, it CAN be done the page gui thing look at tyrell its a masterpiece of one page art. and actually tyrell doesnt use as much cpu as i thought it did. so now i have a new fav synth. yeah i know, COOL STORY BRO

This is so low on my list of things to complain about - how fuckin lazy is it that you can't be bothered to click a button to see another page? - and doing that somehow kills all your joy?

Try programming a sound on a DX7, TG77, D-50, SQ-80 (any of those digital- small LCD paged synths) and you'll see just how spoiled you're acting. :P

i heard that in hell satan makes new visitors program the dx7 for 18 hours a day.

well, for me its a pita. and im the only one that matters :P

That's why God gave you DX Manager 3, which makes DX7 definitely tolerable and even almost "fun" to edit.
Anyway, the days of good plugin synth interfaces are not gone. Most are shitty as hell, as it's always been, and some are good. By the way, Aalto is a good example of a very complex synth (not to mention the best VA) that's comfortable to edit thanks to a sensible interface.
