It might be quite rare (if it is a bug at all and not just a random computer glitch) - I haven't come across anything like that on either of my systems since the early beta's. Just try for yourself - you could always stick a brickwall limiter on the master if you're that worried

Yep, I can insert a safety gate and a limiter... But I'm still not that up for a possible noisy surprise, attenuated or not.aMUSEd wrote:Just try for yourself - you could always stick a brickwall limiter on the master if you're that worried
Good point in any case: even if I won't jump right into testing/enjoying it at full volume, I'll test it for a good while with the volume low, and see if it does anything funny in an otherwise realistic production situation.

A plugin is updated and more than one people shortly report loud bursts on completely different platforms; although a completely random glitch is of course possible, I'd say it's more probable the cause directly involves the said plugin.aMUSEd wrote:if it is a bug at all and not just a random computer glitch

Especially since I had never had that happen in months of usage and then had it nail me first try after the update. Just sayin'. My hope though, is that is was a random glitch and won't happen again. Scared me half to death and I'm sure my monitors, not to mention my ears, would not want that ever again under any circumstance.Guenon wrote:A plugin is updated and more than one people shortly report loud bursts on completely different platforms; although a completely random glitch is of course possible, I'd say it's more probable the cause directly involves the said plugin.aMUSEd wrote:if it is a bug at all and not just a random computer glitch

Well, these glitches used to happen in the old version and were widely considered fixed in recent betas. If anyone has this happen again, please make a screenshot and save the preset, then send these two to us.

I think this is on purpose, but I just wanted to double-check:
On Diva 1.1 on a mac, there's an interim midi learn solution (octave, fine, etc), which works great. But for me, it's global for all versions of diva (two instances of diva can't have different midi learn assignments).
I thought this was getting changed with the new system. Am I wrong, or is it a bug?
Thanks!
Ben

I have a MIDI learn question: Is it possible to tune two oscillators to zero beat unison and then control the fine tuning of one osc so the midpoint of the MIDI control (i.e. 64) is unison? That way turning the fine tune knob left of center would make the osc go flat and right of center, sharp. And 12:00 would be zero beat unison.

This site
http://www.u-he.com/diva
is blocked in China.
It's been off and on since the new site was started.
The old site, was consistent and always available.
The new site is sometimes available, but most times not.
My own site has the same problem though.
I have something to get around it, but maybe other customers here may not.

There are many sites that are "restricted" by the Great Firewall of China...
But there are ways around it

So you can get on it without "the way around"?digitalboytn wrote: I am in Beijing at the moment and I can open that site...

Maybe in Guangdong it's different though.
The entry points are different actually.
I use the "way around" too, but only when I have to.

Put in the site, and this is the reply the site gives me.
It's almost always this way, when it really shouldn't be.Yes, you are right u-he.com/cms/ appears to be Offline!
I'm not saying it's a big problem for me, but many others aren't going to see that site in Southern China then.

Once we get an actual editor, we'll try to add per-preset or per-instance options.benj3737 wrote:I think this is on purpose, but I just wanted to double-check:

I'm still a bit reluctant towards per-preset MIDI Learn. There's so much preset sharing going on, I'm afraid that per preset MIDI learn can lead to a lot of confusion. We will probably need to add ways to block it and all, which isn't done lightheartedly.
This is why this whole overhaul has been and still is a long term project. We'll first try to get "there" in terms of features, and then we'll carefully test those areas that may be confusing.
The "per-instance" solution is something that hasn't been foreseen in the plug-in world at all. We do some per-instance parameters such as Diva's multithreading switch, and they're stored in the preset. They are ignored though if a preset isn't loaded from a host file. We jump through hoops to detect this, but it isn't always possible in all hosts and situation. Concepts like Live Racks don't always let us detect this, so there's even more possible source for confusion.
We'll continue to check into this...
