Lol, me too - I'm leaving this one until the video tutorials are available. I'm man enough to admit this one has beaten me :)

One eyed monster eh! Is that their way of saying this synth has balls? :)

Aw f*ck, I'm just a sucker for the latest toy. Of course I HAD to get this. I've been playing with it for a few hours now, and it is soooooo unbelievably deep. The synthesis methods + filters alone are enough to keep you entertained. Add the Wobbler and FX to it, and it just goes wild. It took me about an hour to find my way through the (gorgeous!) UI, now it's all very easy to work with.
While it may be obvious to some, it took me a while to understand that the sliders in the standard modulators section control the knobs in the oscillators and filters respectively. The manual doesn't point this out, so if you're a bit dense like me, this bit of info may help make things less cryptic. It really is so easy to set up a complex patch - this is one of those hold-one-key-and-make-a-song synths. Monophonic? Yeah, but who needs polyphony with something this complex? And I'd say it's great for leads and soundscapes, so no need to sell it as a "bass synth".

Some synths are good at modulation, but Cyclop really is the Grand Bull Moose of Mod. Having a great time with it. Maybe I'll post a demo if the mood strikes me. I'll try to make it listenable. :)

What a great year for synths: Blade, Iris, and now this.

@aMUSEd: yes, this synth has balls to spare. 8)

Thanks for the summary, ariston. How are you finding the CPU usage?

This is just what I need :)

This is a very powerful and origonal synth, well done devs for doing somthing that isnt trying to emulate something else. This with Tremor is a good combo.

Well, I'm using Ableton 8.3, i7 Q720 Win7. Just loading Cyclop makes the CPU meter go to about 20%. Playing complex patches doesn't change that, it always stays around 18-20%.

Windows task manager reports 11-13%. I'll try Reaper later on, it's much more precise when it comes to performance measurements. Truth to tell, I never know how the hell Ableton computes that performance meter.

I'm on a mac, but I have 5 instances of Cyclops going with Live and CPU is under 20 percent.

One thing I've noticed is that it doesn't save and reload properly with the song. the patches change a little but. I'm not entirely sure how.

btw, the DEMO comes with around 300 presets, while the FULL comes with around 800 presets. Still have to mention that anywhere ;)

It looks to have some interesting approaches to synth design and modulation - it's a pity it's dedicated to bass, which I almost never use.

Just bought it. if it doesn't help me write cooler basslines, at least I might be able to generate something close to a worm hole for scientific betterment of all of humanity!

I just wanted to point out that the folks at Sugar Bytes are working this.

... and that I'm super excited about this new synth, more so than I've been in a while.

Bought it today and I can say: THIS IS THE NEXT BIG THING!
Thank you for making Cyclop! :tu:

For those playing already:

Use the Hotkeys to control the Wobble Knob

and the FX Sequencer.

That really rocks, I will stress it out in tutorials soon ;)

Another trick that promises much fun: Play quarter notes in series, but each
one with a different Cyclop instance (or with some funky hotkeys)...
