While i understand the importance of having your decibels under control, is this something that could be looked at?
MUX does not automatically 'limit' its output, which is a good thing as you stay in full control over the audio. The thing you noticed can happen anywhere in the audio path (also when using non MUX stuff), it depends on the actual audio signals. You need to control the levels at the relevant points in the audio stream.

Thx, even if I don't think, that especially Novation will take care about this...

Exactly my thought of NI  But considering how this product solves several issues with Maschine i wouldn't be surprised if they would ask for licensing it. If it was possible to add support for audio/midi streams between mux instances you would solve Maschine's non-existent side-chain capabilities(!)

Just so you know, the fix for Maschine you made with mux vsti works flawlessly!

JO, I'm having problems with MUX LFO modulating Oxium synth.
It freezes the Host windows in Reaper, Studio One, Orion and Live so far.
I'm using LFO to Parameter Event Generator to Oxium

Ah.. that happened to me too before in live. trying it now, it happened again. If i don't have the GUI of Oxium showing, it wont crash so it could be some graphical issue with Oxium.

Crash in EnergyXT as well. It seems like cpu goes up to 29/30% in both live and xt .. and in reaper :) Probably some limit in oxium

I tried just messing with automation in EnergyXT (the host i find most stable and fastest to boot ;)) and it made oxium sluggish as well. I managed to stop before it froze though. It could be because the LFO in mux is at a much higher rate increasing the pressure on the graphics.

Another thing that supports it's oxium is that i've successfully have used the LFO in muxpatches with Charlatan and Mausynth without any sluggishness or crashes.

Even simple automation in EnergyXT without the use of Mux causes Oxium to go sluggish. Good thing there's three lfo's :)

I like the fact that there's distortion in the audio chain, I first noticed it while co-creating a Mux with a great deal of help from AndreasD ;-)

Using 8 wobble to control parameters in Diversion can cause quite some sluggishness as well! I guess VST isn't really optimized for it.
Not that it's a huge problem as i won't have the GUI open as i tweak the mux, but if you don't save often enough and suffer from a megaslugg, then you're out of luck :-o

If you click the green circle to turn off the vsti or mux, then the slugg is gone, so that could be a trick when creating lfo-heavy mux's.

Xils lab seems to have issues with GUI design. The Synthix has huge problems still for me. I will try also Xils 3 and PolyKB and see.

When i open up an initialized mux and want to build a synth with the built in modules, how do i increase the polyphony? I thought i would figure this out sooner or later but .......... :help:

Post

Is there even any limit on the number of voices you can play at the same time? I never encountered any. I guess your computer is the limit...

In the oscillator window there is a Fatness parameter at the bottom. Not sure if you mean that...

Post

nah, when i add oscillator and connect it to the output i only get one voice ie monophonic. I've tried now using the polysynth which itself is a mux and it is polyphonic. But if i build an identical mux myself, i only get monophonic :?

Post

You mean, you can't play a chord?

Post

Indeed the PolySynth is key to create polyphonic synth patches.
See http://www.mutools.com/mulab/docs/polysynth.html

Post

Does that mean that otherwise the Mux is only monophonic, like a Mini Moog? I wonder if we are really talking about the same thing here. Maybe multitimbral rather than polyphonic?
