ACEDivaZebraFilterScape VADune BE That should be enough for now :hihi:
I have a lot more though :hihi:

I hope some of you like some of the examples!

Edit: Added a multitrack demo to the Zebra examples.

@Dennis: One of your favorite pad is mine fav also! :hihi:

I have just two:

http://soundcloud.com/hollosound/zebra- ... aven-demo2
http://soundcloud.com/hollosound/zebra-padsheaven-demo1

Both of them only Zebra with the synth own fx.

If you like the sounds download the Zebra demo from U-HE,
-and a few thousand free patches from u-he patch library, included 16 free from this bank.
Then you can really decide what to do. :)

Thanks :)
That's one of my favorites too :)
That sound even has key release noise and kinds of other fancy stuff.

Thanks! You sounds are awesome too. I love the audio demos of your bank.
I wish I would finally finish my Zebra bank! Sadly my perfectionism always gets in my way :hihi:
I took some time off the internet and music the last few weeks to get a "clean head", maybe that will help me to get things done :hihi:

Ingonator wrote:I tried to reprogram the "Mellow Strings" preset with U-NO-LX whch i already tried to reprogram with Arturia Jupiter 8V.
The Jupiter 8V preset used a 12dB filter. This is why inside MUX i tried to shape the sound with an EQ.

here is the demo of the Jupiter 8V preset (no external FXs used):
Jupiter 8V Mellow Strings 3

Here is the demo of the "raw" U-NO-LX preset which uses the internal Chorus:
U-NO-LX Mellow Strings w Chorus

Here is the demo of the same U-NO-LX preset with additional FXs from Mutools MUX (EQ + Reverb):
MUXed U-NO-LX Mellow Strings w Chorus

Here is the demo of the U-NO-LX preset using MUX with 2 layers (no Chorus) and additional FXs (EQ + Reverb):
MUXed U-NO-LX Mellow Strings

Personally i prefer the last example (+ the one from Jupiter 8V) but that's a matter of taste.

Here is a zip file withe MUX preset and different versions of the U-NO-LX preset (single preset + 2 layers inclusing "a" + "b" in the name):

I just finished reprogramming all 64 original Jupiter 8 factory sounds with Arturia Jupiter 8V based on the patch sheets and after some optimizations (based on audio demos) i'll post a free bank at KVR.

Ingo
I agree with your tastes! The first one is certainly familiar and typical of the Jupiter, I think. It was a popular synth for strings, if I remember correctly.

BTW, how can I make links with the player imbedded? Or is it sufficient to link to the file?

Thanks!

You just have to link to a MP3, wav or OGG file and the player will appear automatically :)

Ingonator wrote:Just posted this at another thread but thought it would fit here too. It's one of my favorite sounds for sure. The demo was already done before the soundset was published.

This is an audio demo i made using one of my Novachord presets for PPG Wave 3.V called "Mega Nova" (soundbank see my signature):

PPG Wave 3.V - Mega Nova

This preset uses the sample (created using one of my own presets for Soniccouture Novachord, published with kind permission) for both oscillators which are detuned. To this the awesome Chorus FX of PPG 3.V (one of my favorite Chorus FXs) is added.
While rendering the sample it was processed using the Waldorf D-Pole filter plugin. Additionally the PPG Wave 3.V adds it's own character to the sound/sample. The original sample sounds quite boring compared to the result in this preset.

The PPG is certainly a unique instrument (probably more of what I grew up with than I realized!)
It would be interesting to "dismantle" a sound like the one you posted into timbres, and see if it can be matched. For example, I see that both PPG and one of my favs, Yoshimi, both have 8-timbral capacity. Cool..

Hi,

the preset uses the sample import feature of the PPG Wave 3.V. The sample is based on a preset created with the Soniccouture Novachord Kontakt instrument which includes the controls of the real synth.
Some of the "magic" in that PPG Wave 3.V preset comes from the PPG filter, the Chorus FX and the emulated aliasing (PPG 2.2 True PPG mode).

So far everyone failed to do either an emulation or reprogramming a convincing recreation of the Novachord sound.

Some links about the hardware:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novachord
http://www.discretesynthesizers.com/nova/intro.htm
http://www.novachord.co.uk/

The hardware consists of 163 vacuum tubes and 1000 capacitors which create a divide-down architecture like in some String maxchines.
It also has a unique synth engine with 3 "Resonators" (= oscilltors with BP filters and high resonance with diffferent frequencies), a LP filter, a HP filter and an allpass filter.
Another unique feature is that each note has a slightly different vibrato rate so when playing a chord all notes sound slightly different.
All that, especially the tubes and capacitors are difficult to emulate. Recreating each of the tubes and capacitors with DSP code will result in a plugin that could hardly be used on todays desktop computers.

So as a conclusion it would be hard do do a convincing emulation or a recreation on another synth but it could be possible to come at least close.
So basically this is a great challenge for sound designers and developers...

I recently got Mutools MUX so maybe i could come close with a modular synth like that.

I made a patch for ACE that was based on (my memory of) the Novachord, but I wouldn't mind having a serious go at an emulation or two. Got any samples for use as "targets"?
