What I love the most in Mulab is the sound quality of the internal instruments and effects.
Now they are available in the MUX VST.
The Essentials version of Reason is only 120 Eur, but have not a lot instruments in it, but is expandable by the Rack Extensions (RE).

So what about a MUX Rack Extension for Propellerhead Reason ?

Post

I'm evaluating it. Currently waiting for some answers from Propellerheads.

Does that mean VST's will work in Reason via the MUX?

Now that's a brain bending thought.

I thought so! I always liked the look of Reason way back in v3 but lack of VST support put me off. That and the price. But now looking at v6 id be willing to pay.

There is no way PH would allow VST hosting in Reason so I wouldn't hold out much hope on the full version of MUX as an RE.

I understand that direct VST support could be a pain to do for Reason dev's, but the MUX could do the supporting and 'convert' to Reason's Rack Ext format. Or something like that anyway, is that possible?

I'm afraid they won't allow that. Being able to use vst's (although through a workaround) could probably be too much competition against their own RE format
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Good point! Never thought about that. As always greed takes over!

Maybe Propellerhead will allow a Mux RE but without VST support...

Post

Yeah but imagine how popular the Mux RE would become if it allowed VST's in Reason!!! If only eh Jo ;-)

I'm interested too. Still waiting for a reply from PH on some questions i asked them.
