Yet another Mulab request

mux would need to make up connections where appropriate... say for instance if your track pointed to musynth and the out put of musynth went into an echo and then more modules etc, if that chain of modules isnt wrapped in a mux then cloning would make another musynth and plug it into the same echo module? i guess that could work.

Also, this really only works with track-level targeting. If the parts on the track all have different targets, some to modules also targeted by parts on unrelated tracks even, then what do you do? It does have the chance to get very messy...

good point, i hadnt thought about that, maybe because i usually put one target per track. maybe you would specify if you only want to clone to a new midi channel (for multi timbral plugins etc) or clone with 1 (or maybe more?) layer of depth within mux. hmm its getting messy youre right

I hadn't thought about the mux getting crowded. That brings a very good point. LMMS wasn't near as advanced as Mulab so it was able to have this feature. But because Mulabs' core is modular it would make sense to leave it be the way it is. As said already there is a way to clone a rack and point a track to it so I guess I already have what I asked for.
However an implentation of a right click clone on the rack would be very nice to those of us who don't know all the shortcuts. Just my two cents though.

You're welcome. The idea was nice but MuLab is a different Beast to deal with and as soon we get under the surface (as Pljones pointed out) we see the difference from other DAWs .
I love it!

Ok man, please don't start another fight on the forums. We are discussing features that we would like and pro's/con's to them.> DiGiT < wrote:haha youre a dweebdo you really have me on ignore? have a nice day

P.S
I'm not being mean, I just want the forums to be a place for a good community(not that you're bad, but certain things can be taken as an offense) .

Kinda, I have to use liquid sounds' trick but I would much prefer a right click option.

theres no trick to doing it the long way. we were in discussion over the feasibility of simplifying the process so you didnt need the long way. this is usually the form a solution takes in software when theres no easy button--a 'workaround'. btw i have used clone track often in other favorite software and agree that it poses a benefit to the studio environment, as handy as cut copy paste even. it definitely fits into the ergonomics concept that im so fond of.

Liquidsound and Digit:
Yes, I love Mulab too, and I'm also a friend of ergonomic workflow - I think these two are connected.
And there always something more to be done (Hence this - and other threads), like the rest of life, right?

If you remember around v2.x I was probably a major pusher, and sometime a pain in the butt, for a workflow similar to something like EnergyXT, primarily in the Pianoroll area. MuLab has surpassed XT and other DAWs with its simplicity and hidden power but, being modular, sometime it's just not that easy to keep implementing "ideas" on a weekly or monthly basis without conflicting with a roadmap which leads to the developer vision supported and co-created by us the users.
As of now I'm quite happy (but it'll never ends right?
Ideas are great and being part if the whish list will contribute to Jo and Our MuLab.....

Something like: I really think ergonomics is important too, and that I think that Mulab is good in that area, but there always thing left to do to make it even better, just like everything else in life."ergonomics concept that im so fond of"
Hope I was a bit clearer this time around...?
