Brand new MUX user here
I'm using Kirnu Cream (an arpeggiator) inside Studio One 2.5. As Studio One has issues with the timing when sending notes between tracks, I tried to use Cream inside MUX. This way I get stable, even timing from Cream.
However I noticed something interesting and I'm not sure if it is caused by Studio One, MUX or Cream, so I made a video of it
(audio + video are slightly out of sync, but that's not the issue here)
Basic setup:
- MUX as an instrument in Studio One
- inside MUX, route incoming MIDI to Cream and from there to a synth (here: Dune)
- play half notes, Cream plays 16ths
- set the "Length" of the first step to 2, so Cream should play an 8th followed by six 16ths
This works only if I delay the incoming MIDI by a very tiny amount (either using Studio One's track delay or e.g. a delay module inside MUX). Without the delay, Cream sometimes skips the first 8th and keeps playing 16ths.
But with the delay (just 0.02 milliseconds is enough), it plays the pattern as expected.
I get the same effect if I use Cream in Reaper (a simple track with Cream and the synth as FX), when I move the MIDI notes a tiny bit to the left (ie, they are a bit too early).
As I said, I don't know what causes this (Studio One, MUX or Cream) and the work around is very simple, but maybe you have an idea what could cause this.
Regards,
Andre
