Yeah, it does bias me soft synth wise towards digital for sure. The last three soft synths purchased were MachFive 3 (for the IRCAM granular stuff), Granite, and upgrading to Garriton Personal Orchestra 4. Looking forward to Zebra 3! 8)

You realize you are basically spamming the u-he forum with advertising for other products?

I think this thread should be closed and if someone wants to talk about this, here is the main thread:

no

I am interesting in comparing it to DIVA and also URS might find something interesting in competitive products like Monark and use that latter in his own products.

LOL. :D

Taking the effort to press the shift button to type extra caps where they are out of place goes beyond careless misspelling, that's just plain ignorance / misinformation.

But on the other hand, I've seen many more people confuse Urs (Heckmann, from this very forum for u-he plug-ins) with URS (= Unique Recording Software, another plug-in vendor, which is *completely* unrelated, afaik), than I have seen with such annoyingly poor misspelling habits. :P

You posted advertising for another product. If you were interested in comparison you would have done some comparing. You didn't, so to me it is just trolling and not appropriate for the u-he forum.

But if you want some comparison:

Diva = Polyphonic
Monark = Monophonic

Diva = significant modulation capabilities
Monark = very few modulation capabilities

Diva = Oscillator Sync
Monark = No Sync

Diva = Pulse Width Modulation
Monark = No PWM

Diva = Unison
Monark = No Unison

Diva = Multiple Osc types
Monark = 1 Osc type

Diva = Multiple filter models
Monark = 1 filter model

Diva = Extra HP filter
Monark = No HP filter

Diva = Ring Modulation
Monark = No Ring Modulation

Diva = has own preset browser
Monark = depends on Reaktor wrapper

Diva = Has effects
Monark = No effects

Diva = multiple envelope types including release control
Monark = no separate envelope release control

Diva = velocity modulation
Monark = no velocity at all

Diva = Osc reset and phase control
Monark = no osc reset

In other words, they are really nothing alike in concept and execution and while Monark may or may not be a top notch minimoog emulation, it cannot begin to duplicate what Diva is capable of. I thought this thread was inappropriate for the u-he forum in the first place, but whatever. Now though you are resurrecting it with Monark spam.

Actually, 4 filter types in Monark - 24, 12, and 6 dB/oct lowpass and one 12 dB/oct bandpass.

Year, i really like Reaktor consept and i would really want to see all my favoryt VSTs within Reaktor, but unfortinaly Urs seid he likes to creat standalone synths but not synth blocks and modules which u can manupulete and change, but maby he will change his mind in future...

Monark, yet another Reaktor synth. It's nothing like Diva. It sounds compressed and limited by default. The only NI synths that sound somewhat good are FM-7 and Absynth.

The problem is, it's easier to make a "modern mix" with shi* like Massive and Monark. But if you know your shi* you can do much better mixes with other, more dynamic synths. NI instruments always sounded blurred, smudged, limited to me. No use for what I do. :shrug: I like to do the decisions about dynamics myself and construct the mix and the sounds from scratch.

But this is a fast food society, sorry, I forgot...
