I think the lack of info about future development makes people to buy other VSTs instead. Like Zebra2. Compare the situation to what u-he is doing. Their recent announcements from Messe 2013 is just what people are expecting here.

lennar is great if you have an issue; he got right back to me last year. but it IS frustrating to not know if there will be updates, etc...2010? that's still a long time ago in 'tech' years...

i will continue to use S1 until logic no longer supports it (and, LOL, logic is pretty old too....)

the bottom line: i can do my work, and use the tools i want. so am ok for now...

Most users want new features but since 2007 nothing outstanding has been added. Only bugfixes and some "improvements".

Maybe Lennard avoids adding any new features because he's really working on a new synth *rumour1* And at the same time he can't say "S1 will be discontinued" because nobody would buy S1 anymore and wait for the newer synth *rumour2*

I feel for you Sylenth1 fans. I recognize it's a fantastic synth, but I'm also kinda glad I'm not into it because it seems a bit like unrequited love :hihi:

Lennar also seems somewhat angry or at least snarly about his fans or some of them, but people WILL begin to speculate if left hoping in the dark. It's human nature. Just put them out of their mistery already!

despite my wish for a 64bit AU, am happy using S1. i love it's sound, it's simplicity. i have a ginormous library of presets for it. but how long can we talk about a possible update, or a new version? it's just abstract speculation, and nothing will matter until (if) lennar himself steps up and says something (or shows us something)....

So true. Sylenth came out of the blue years ago with that sound seemingly made from Faery dust. I personally feel a sense of loss for all the great synths/improvements/effects that Lennard has chosen not to share.

I realise i'm approaching @$$hole-dom for pointing this out, but in one month it WILL be 3 years... (pt.3)

Looks like they released a fix for Windows 8 users though, in late 2012: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=363085 So that is not entirely true...

For me it's 5 years since the last "real" update (with new features).

would you really consider that an update though? Its a closed beta release and the only way to know about it would either be to email lennard or to visit kvr, there is absolutely no notice of it on the website which most people would use to determine if an update exists. For the majority of the userbase they probably have no idea that that release exists. So since its not publicly released would you really call it an update, or just in permanent beta testing?

Post

No, as i wrote, it is a quick fix for Windows 8 users. Why it has never reached final version status, or was uploaded on their website, only themsleves know. I just pointed it out, as the conclusion was, that since 2010, they would have, kind of, done nothing.
