It's great for interesting, complex sounding pads that stay out of the way of big analog-type sounds. I wouldn't use it for much else.bmanic wrote:I can appreciate how deep the thing is but no matter how you seem to tweak it, it all sounds a bit "same" to me and that'd be fine if I'd like that kind of sound character.

Agreed! I find it to be extremely digital, even when it's using samples of analog synths!chk071 wrote:As for the sound, to my ears, it's pretty digital, like z3ta. The filters aren't the same as z3ta's, but similar, at least that was my impression. Meaning, they don't sound particularly "warm".

Pity they are not on sale. Right now they cost nearly 3 times as much as I paid for the plugin.Aiynzahev wrote:Galbanums pads for Rapture sound amazing. Listening to the demos now. Glad I have Rapture, got to get into it seriously soon. I am floored by how much incredible stuff is out there for us, and for $20. I don't know what to call it? Stealing?

Yeah, I'm starting to appreciate it's filler nature. A big bonus for this role is also the very low CPU usage of modern standards.Uncle E wrote:It's great for interesting, complex sounding pads that stay out of the way of big analog-type sounds. For everything else both Rapture and Dimension Pro seem extremely dated. I would not recommend them unless you buy 3rd party, more up-to-date sound banks or plan on doing some sound designing of your own.
Cheers!

As you found out, that will not work. The bonus programs rely on multisamples from the Universal 120 Expansion Pack. (It is not my software BTW)cyphersuit wrote:

One thing I would like to know from those that have picked up Rapture (or DimPro) on this deal. Does Cakewalk add links to the free expansion packs to your store accounts? If not, you should go to the support page for the synths and get them.

No, I don't think they do.scook wrote:One thing I would like to know from those that have picked up Rapture (or DimPro) on this deal. Does Cakewalk add links to the free expansion packs to your store accounts? If not, you should go to the support page for the synths and get them.
The expansion packs for Dimension Pro saved that synth for me, as it injects patches usable for electronic music. The Dim Pro library in itself is dead boring, 90% of the sounds is tailor made for an operator in a piano bar
For Rapture users should also get the free Muz3um expansions pack, which is the BOMB!

I would strongly encourage everyone that picks up either synth to download the FREE expansion packs. There are 3 packs for DimPro and 2 packs for Rapture. The links are in the support area for each synth on the Cakewalk website.
Patcharena is another good resource. Muz3um is the old z3ta+ package converted to Rapture. It is a nice one.

The rumors are very reliable. They've been around since before the announcement of Bitwig, so any year now.Igro wrote:What is these rumors about Rapture 2? It it true that this can happen anytime soon?
