not gonna work. for example...no way to open LX in 32bit mode to first run AU manager...and activate a 32bit plugin.
(yes, i tried the idea...).

One work around is with jBridgeM and DDMF Metaplugin, got it working with the demo versions and with automation.
1. Install jBridgeM demo: http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridgem/ - you'll probably have to restart the mac after install.
2. Download Metaplugin demo and copy AU and VST plugins to relevant locations: http://www.ddmf.eu/product.php?id=3
3. Run jBridgerM from Applications/jBridgeM and select the sylenth1.vst from your plugins folder /library/audio/plug-ins/vst. Make sure you set it to 64bit Host.
4. Load LPX and make sure MetapluginSynth registers in AU Manager.
5. Bring up MetaPluginSynth AU.
6. Right click in the MegaPlugin demo, click load plugin (after this you can just select [jBridgeM]LennardDigital->Sylenth1)
7. Go to /users/<username>/library/audio/plug-ins/VST/PluginsBridgedFor64VSTHosts and select Sylenth1.vst
8. Drag the Midi Input to the top of Sylenth1
9. Drag the two Sylenth1 outputs underneath into Audio Output.
10. Double click on the 4: Sylenth1
11. Away you go...
Right, worked out the automation but it looks like you cant use the touch/latch method.
1. Within DDMF Metaplugin Demo, select Param. 1 from the left pull down menu.
2. Select 4:Sylenth1 from the middle pull down
3. Then on the right pull down, select the parameter you want to automate.
4. I think you then click the Set PDC button to green.
4. Select the parameter from within the MetaPluginSynth pull down in the Logic track parameters section and start drawing.

Worked that bit out now with the automation, but I don't think its going to be easy to load up an old LP9 project as you'd need to change the synth from the original Sylenth1 and copy the automation one by one. But for the mean time, I think I can work with that.
I just hope that Lennard surprises everyone with a 64bit version, there's a lot of us that genuinely love Sylenth1 and appreciate the hard work and effort Lennard has done over the years (fingers crossed).

I just created a 4 minute video tutorial I have hosted over at You Tube. It describes in a step by step method, how to host 32 bit plugins in Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 (by the people over at Vienna Symphonic Library) in Logic Pro.
While VEPro costs a bit of $$$, it is a great host, and comes with a pretty great orchestral library that I know at least 1 major hollywood composer I work for uses in his final work when doing a score using samples.
