My demos are now working again :)
I had to remove 2 or 3 very old ones, but I'll add them later again once I find the USB stick they are on :hihi:

I also added two more demos:
This noisy Filterscape VA pad and this Zebra HZ percussion sound.

Now I "just" need to add all the awesome demos you guys uploaded (I couldn't listen to each one yet, but the stuff I heard so far is awesome!) :)

Done! That took less time than I thought it would :)
Only ~3 hours :hihi:

Thanks again for all the great demos, I'm still listening to them!

I'm a happy owner of Zebra. I still feel like I have a lot to discover. Still, I recently got an irrational craving for modular synthesizers. Specifically I've been looking at a DotCom system. Being a student it would be irrational to spend so much money on a synth. Enter Ace. I kinda feel bad for trying out the demo of Ace. It feels like I'm cheating on good old Zebra. To my surprise I find that I really like Ace and that I'm surprised how different it sounds to Zebra. I've been having so much fun twiddling the knobs that I didn't even try the various presets. Yesterday I did and what a great inspiration they are! Within 30 minutes of trying presets I had a quick noodle of improvised nonsense. Perhaps it's silly to show of a track using only presets but I just found them lovely.

All Ace (4 instances). No external FX. First takes from someone who is really a guitar player, so don't be to harsh on the performance. ;) Just enjoy the sound.

That actually sounds quite awesome imo :)
I especially like the second part!
Thanks for sharing! I've added it to the list!

It's absolutely no problem to use presets by the way! This is not meant to be some kind of "Listen how cool my sounds are!" thread :hihi:

It's more like a "Listen how cool these synths are!" thread :)
I love listening to audio demos and hate it when I only find processed demos or demos where I can barely hear what comes out of the synth in question and what not.

In other words: When I search for audio demos I would love to find such a thread and I simply hope that others feel the same about this one :)

It's also a good place for me (and hopefully others) to post my demos without getting too annoying :hihi:
I often simply have to share some stuff and I don't want to search for excuses to post them in completely unrelated threads somewhere on the instruments forum :hihi:

That was quite enjoyable!! And if you are having the modular itch, I suggest you give Bazille a whirl too!

I love Bazille but I've been neglecting her since buying Zebra. Bazille was in fact the first U-he synth I really started to work on. I've always heard that you should do your own patches starting from scratch in order to fully learn a synth. And yet I've never been able to do it because I've been lazily browsing patches. This was the case for my Mopho. Enter Bazille with no presets, forcing you to actually make all you own sounds. In some ways Bazille is really difficult. But in some ways it is easy and really helpful when learning synthesis. You are forced to think about what affects what since your actually dragging cables between units. This opened my eyes to synth programming and got me starting on Zebra and my Mopho. Now I allways start from an initialize patch and try to realize the sound I hear in my head. It actually works... most of the times. Now I almost feel like I'm cheating if I'm using a preset (though I still do occasionally).

What is really surprising about this approach is how personal your sound becomes. I'm familiar with this from playing guitar. I've noticed that I tend to sound like me even when I'm playing someone else's gear. This is understandable to some degree because you have such a direct physical connection to the generation of sound (vibrato, how you hit the strings, how you slide from one note to another). I was really surprised to discover the same thing in sound design but I've found that we recognize somewhat of our own voice there too.

Sorry for the off topic. Now back to audio demos.

+1 and +1 ... and on that note... another pad example using the new Uhbie filter (thing is freakin gorgeous!)

pdxindy,
If I had the future Diva, I'd be asking for the patch! Maybe I'll ask anyway for the future, unless it is a factory preset that is included.
You can hear my original music at this link: https://www.soundclick.com/artist/defau ... dID=224436

Yes it is! :)

Post

Yep! Sounds great again :)
I'll add it to the list.

The Uhbie filter is the "softest" filter I ever heard. Sometimes it almost sounds like a simple attenuator.
One really has to crank up the resonance to make it sound "filtery".
Definitely a nice, unique addition to Diva!

I just found some Diva demos I made and posted in the other thread when the new modules were announced. Most of these use the new modules.

A buzzy bass soundA bell-ish soundA soft chordTeh tarnce padzA crazy bass soundAn improvised lead sound (please excuse my horrible playing)An absolutely innovative chord stab you surely never heard before

And two older demos I somehow never posted here.

Another tarnce thingySomething different

Hi Dennis... Good to see you posting some stuff again! (even if it is older stuff)

I just received my new Zoom H6 portable recorder so am off to do some recording to try it out... the thought makes me think about how I would like a monophonic version of Bazille with an audio input!! :D

Better step away from the computer. With good & crazy sounds like that emanating from your microchips, clearly your computer will explode with a force of 20 megatons of dynamite. Be careful. :-o

Thanks! I'll try to post some newer stuff soon! I've been working on a Zebra/Zebra HZ only track the last few days, hopefully I'll finish it soon!

Nice! I still use my trusty, old Zoom H2! The Zoom H6 looks interesting though.
Reaktor is still my favorite tool to mangle samples at the moment :)
It would definitely be cool to have external inputs in Bazille and ACE though!

That's almost exactly what happened to my last PC a few months ago :hihi:

Here is another Zebra example I recorded some time ago: I really don't know what this is
It starts as some kind of Steve Reich-ish out of phase rhythm and evolves into a weird alien free jazz jam or something like that :hihi:
