Thank you Peter for your response and i hope IK change some policies, all i can do is hope. I'll contact tech support to find out what all i can uninstall/not install with your software. All i know is my demo's are starting to time out and i don't want some of the IK plugins to leave my plugin folder and am reaching for my wallet. Very few Native plugins have me feeling like this. I don't like the NFR policy thus a relatively low limit to how much i invest in IK products must be set until a policy change occurs, but i also feel the hardwork that IK put into these plugins should be rewarded with some purchases, especially to help ensure future plugin releases of this high quality and better. My i7 will look alot better with these type algorithms running on it. I really do hope the Custom Shop NFR policy is seriously considered and overturned and that the software download file is slimmed down, cause IK has a good thing going here now, why shoot yourselves in the foot while going after the competition? Don't mess up a good opportunity and counter reaching your full potential. You guys have a amazing and mind-blowing price/quality/versatility ratio going on with T-RacksPeter - IK Multimedia wrote:Understandable, sounddesigner. I have much shorter answers, though, which may or may not be unfortunate...
1. I believe that you'd be safe with Authorization Manager since that is also safest to get back if you need it directly (at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/authorizationmanager without installing an associated product from your User Area). Custom Shop and other components (though you probably did say no to QuickTime during the install already, note that that one is purely optional if you are not using T-RackS Standalone and furthermore not importing certain media types) are another story. You may want to consult the folks at support for those. If you removed Authorization Manager and were asked for authorization again, you could download it again and even the reauthorization would likely reuse an authorization instead of burning a new one anyway so it would be pretty safe to test regardless.
2. I appreciate your suggestion, obviously you know that's not how it works now but I can put forth this suggestion as I typically do. I see you do like the credit system, but we're also considering more options at least for people looking to use their local currency instead and I hope any change (if any occurs) accommodates both because of the deep discount you can get every day with Gear Credit packs in larger quantities (and JamPoints making that an even better deal for existing customers).
Well that's it with the complaints from me, some of these plugins are truly masterpieces. The 33609 emu is my favorite but also loving the buss compressor (Has that silkyness i loved about duende Buss) and British channel is nice to, the tape echo seems useful as well. Quite a few nice ones i had some tuff decissions to make with this whole situation. Again GREAT JOB IK!
