If you look at the CM Vault (where the software can be downloaded), the low numbers you see in the list when registering magazines (to unlock the content) seem to be Computer Music Specials issues. There are 8 of them. (16, 17, 20, 21, 23, 60, 61, 62) The current CM Specials issue is 62.

Even the old-timer FabFilter One is a fine fine synth with a fab filter (lame pun but really true), just a shame it's mono out (monophonic too).

Hi,

Does anyone know if Zebra CM comes with any drum sounds - just basics: kick, snare, hats etc?

Thinking of entering, never used any of Uhe synths before, just not realle keen on programming drum sounds... otherwise Dune CM it is ;)

Thx

Double Checking now - I know zprime already told me it lacked percussion presets

One here, but does not sound like a hi hat ... more like synth pluck
rsmus7 -> 'SM hi hat'

I was able to get a nice hi hat using the Noise oscillator... I imagine you might be able to make the others.

Dominator is a nice little diddy, and has all the basic percussion presets:

**Edit**
Got it with the The Ultimate Mixing Guide cm studio download

Let me know if you want a demo of something... just made this:

Dominator CM bass... just 2 unison basslines hard panned, no FX:

Thx again:)

Nice demo too!

Are there many presets in Dominator? Pads too?

just a question, is dominator from the older issues of CM or a new one, as I actually have about 120 hard copys here together with CD / DVD's but maybe never bothered to check all the free synths - as I never use them, I have the latest digital issues but Dominator is not in there, maybe I go do a bit of search.
I am also installing 32bit version of Studio One Pro on my laptop so can use all of these older 32bit pluggins, my main PC is all 64bit, but don't want to use reaper again or Cubase, S1 seems the only one i've been using lately.

Dominator should be from the pre CM 182 magazines, the 'CM Studio'.

It's been around since 2006 (BLIMEY!!! ) http://www.musicradar.com/us/computermu ... tor-245955

Here are all the patches:

At least it has the frikkin' power zap! It is the quintessential percussive element.

Awesome.... well what you know, I just picked up the first DVD on top of the pile (CM144) and there it is :) will check it out soon and decide which too use, if I had drums or bothered to program them, tempted to go with Zebra but will see, dominator may suprise me - if not Dune was pretty good last time :)

That's the reason I joined OSC years back... I've been waiting to use the power zap all this time!! FINALLY! Toms, or snare will never be the same again...

Is topic (even if you think is not) how many listens here melodies more than what exact sounds are (when we talk this competion entries) ? i hope this is also composing competion not synth progarmming competion becouse i am better composer if asked for me. i composed one tune now what i like but used only one CM synth with its presets (or maybe sounds what i downloaded form net i dont remember) (which one is dont important this tme) and its presets only and only slight amount effect form also computer music dvd.

ps. best synths for these are Zebra CM ,and Dune CM,and Xlis lab polykb player and all samelevel good only different... i cannot comment rhino cm and synthmaster cm becouse i dont get them work. and i hope if i get price is available in audiounit if not i cannot use it...:(

Thanks, done.
