It does not apply for you at all...
If you paid 149, for the upgrade from Cubase 6.5 to Cubase 7 and in case there is a paid upgrade for 7.5 and you decide to pay for it... then you would have paid something around 198,00, theoretically speaking. (I am not saying there is going to be a paid upgrade, I am just using it as an example)
This example is nonsense, because I'm with Cubase longer than "just 6.5", remember?

I didn't get the paid(!) 6.5 update since I found it a total ripoff and only two months later, you folks confirmed that 6.5 is the last version and C7 was on front doors.

So I waited, actually 2-3 months past the C7 release, and then went from C6 to C7. Only to be smacked in the face with tons of bugs.

Add to that the fact that you recently upped prices for "future upgrades" (we're currently at 250 EUR for major to major version and 199 EUR for dot to major), and the indirect wink that 7.5 will be(!) paid (Helge Vogt said so himself - several times)... well I already paid more than it was actually worth it.

Don't you think?
(hint at the "nuke your OS to find a bug that was NOT on my rigs end!" thing)

Guillermo Navarrete wrote: So ti will be the same as it was when customers upgraded from Cubase 4 to Cubase 5 = 199,00
No it won't. Not anymore.

Guillermo Navarrete wrote:
Will there be an interim paid update (7.2 or 7.5)?

Will the release cycle be longer than 1,5 years this time around?

Will we longtime users be forked over again with the next major version (that I expect by Musikmesse 2014 latest) if we talk about bugs, cut features and support?
I know you are eager to know but I will kindly ask you to be patient and wait for the official announcement, whenever it is.
It has to be done on our official website and thorough the official channels, obviously I am not posting anything before time and on KVR... It also has to be made by the product manager itself.

Thank you for your understanding.
Two words:
F*ck you!

And f*ck the Product Management. (we definitely need an emoticon for that)

If you're not allowed to say anything, get one of these idiots in here. But sorry, you can't ban people on KVR if you have to stand up to delicate questions. Might as well STFU then and say nothing instead of constantly pissing people off with stupid comments.

Let the programmers speak up again, and not some marketing idiot that's only like "hey, this stuff's cool - you just have to pay a fair ammount for it."

You're (Steinberg, the company - and it's official representatives!) still evading questions and you expect us, the longtime users, to bend over, be a good person while being f*cked in the behind. I'm so sick of this sh*t!

You owe to us paying customers!
Especially the longtime ones - like I am.

Else, I ask once more:

Where can I sign up for "official beta testing", so that I can get my licenses for free from now on?

I'm your guinea pig since C5, might as well finally benefit from my work. I can offer references as well. Just PM me.

Since I'm under NDA's - I'm not allowed to talk publically about them.

I'm sure you understand until someone makes that official. ;)

Oh and, boxed versions please!
Thanks!

Wow, you tell him to f**k himself and get the idiots here, and still expect an answer from him? You're one angry guy, don't know why you still use Cubase at all, if you're so discontent you have to express your extreme anger here.

Because I don't have the money to "fund" something else.

Want to get something off my yard sale? Link in the sig. Maybe then I can get S1 or something.

Every time i checked the prices shown on Steinberg's website included VAT. As on every other site. Honetsly don't know where you got those screenshots from. Maybe post a link so everyone can see.
Well, links with Steiny's sites are tricky stuff. The website recognizes your IP obviously, uses cookies I guess and a does other things to keep you away from things other can see.

In theory the country I'm living in atm should be processed in USD. Before I lived in UK. Before I moved from UK I changed my account details but the prices were always shown in EUR. I contacted customer service some time ago and asked them if it is correct. The response I got was that Steinys prices are all in EUR globally.

I have seen many posts at KVR and GS indicating Steiny's offers in USD and I knew there was something wrong. To cut the story short. I used my company PC to access the shop and guess what prices appeared in ... USD :) When I accessed the shop during the same session via my user account prices turned into GBP...

Anyway sending links won't help hence screen shots.

There is being passionate about the daw you're currently using but there comes a time when one should see something as not working out and go somewhere else, n'est pas?

I think that any questions about future price increases or X.x price increases are probably moot because only Steinberg knows what they are doing in that department and they aren't talking about it.

What is most important at this very moment is what everybody has already paid for, Cubase 7 which has proven to be a deeply flawed release for a great number of users. Release 7.05 (where I came in) may have compounded problems and the newest release 7.06 may not be much better - from what I saw of screenshots of the mix console with the disappeared track names I don't want to even install it. And the Steinberg rep here has admitted that critical issues regarding ASIO handling, VST handling, GUI and other basic level DAW functionality have NOT been addressed in 7.06 because (paraphrase here, but near quote) "these are very complicated issues." Maybe they need to call in the pros from Dover.

So the reason why any price increases should be moot, my reason for refusing to even consider a paid 7.5 or .6 upgrade, is that if Cubase 7.0x is not functioning extremely well for you at this point in time, you would be a damned fool for even considering sending Steinberg any more money.

That's just throwing good money after bad. If you got a shitty meal in a restauraunt you wouldn't order their desserts, would you?

Yeah, especially when ranting here will change nada, except the people's view on you when you tell an official who has nothing to do with price politics to f**k himself. Sorry, but that's just way off.

Tell THIS guy what you think of Cubase 7:

Kazunori Kobayashi, Executive Officer
Yamaha Corporation
10-1, Nakazawa-cho, Naka-ku,
Hamamatsu Shizuoka 430-8650
Japan

CC to this guy at the same address: Takuya Nakata

Make sure you tell them that Cubase 7 is an embarassment and that it has negatively impacted your opinion of both Steinberg AND Yamaha.

And THIS guy:
Andreas Stelling
Steinberg Gmbh
Neuer Hoeltigbaum 22-32
Hamburg, 22143
Germany

Also this love asks too much....

That's so sad to see another great German company with several decades of experience in the claws of a big Japanese company...
