Issue #182 has the oldest plugs availible in the online vault afaik, so if you get that issue and a current issue then you'll have a good selection of plugs.
Hey, you can get MANY of the old plugins by buying CM Special 'The ultimate guide to mixing'. This is Cm issue 20 in the vault. It's a 3GB download, and has quite a few gems including Dominator, Genesis, etc.
Dang, I'd better get that issue. Had no clue Genesis was in the vault! #182 has Dominator. You're 100% sure that Genesis is included with #20?
How about we settle this with a screeny shoter:

That's from the 3GB download, 'The Ultimate Guide to Mixing'... and it's called issue '20' in the vault for some weird reason.

I'll be participating this month for the first time in OSC with DominatorCM. Initially thought of using SynthmasterCM, then ZebraCM, but decided to limit and challenge myself even further and choose a less feature-ridden one that I have never even loaded in my host. On top of that decided to compose a track in a genre/style that I have never done before. So overall it's a first-times experience and greatly rewarding.

The Cymbal discussion here intrigued me a lot, and last night was a Cymbal night for me as well. So there will be one (at least vaguely acceptable for the purposes of the track).
And while creating the tambourine sound I accidentally made a cowbell :D But won't use it.

On the other hand I think I may have found a bug in Dominator (or Zynewave Podium, idk) but so far in my test bounces there is always the issue of messed-up notes, hanging notes (once for the entire track), or simply missing altogether. But anyways, will choose the version with the least amount of issues for the final (hopefully) submission.

Greetings, and welcome CymaticCreation!! If you keep having issues, how about using Reaper for this month (As it can be freely used for a few months)? http://www.cockos.com/reaper/

Good luck :)

Thanks bjporter.

That's a good idea, but it will take some time transferring, arranging, getting used to the Reaper way (I have never demoed it) etc and I don't think I have it :)
There are still many changes and additions to the song so I don't want to ruin the vibe at this point.

Thanks again and Good Luck all

Thanks for the confirm. #182 indeed falls a wee bit short to issue #20. Is the CM release of Bifilter 2 allowed in the compo? Also, recycling old unused melodies is a no go?

Hold me to this guys, it's about time I enter a one synth challenge. I'm in. I started on Podolski but didn't finish in time. Not letting that happen again.

Hey -- anybody using Synthmaster CM? I've made a batch of new sounds and saved them, but can't figure out how to get them to appear in the Presets list. They are saved with the tracks that use them, butiIf anyone knows how to get them to appear in the Presets list I would appreciate the advice. I work on a Mac in Logic.

Thanks!

I always thought it just appeared when you load the project. Here's some more info: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5809

Good luck. I might be able to test it out on OSX tomorrow.

Thanks for the info on Logic patch browsing -- as it happens they don't show up there, but I'm looking for them to show up in the Synthmaster CM Preset Browser. The behaviour I'm seeing is that while the session is open, the patches I save during that session do show up in the SM CM Preset Browser, but if I close my Logic session and then re-open, the presets are no longer in the browser, but they are saved with the Logic channel strips. Confusing.....

Thanks!

I'm doing the same, and went as far as possible in that regard :D

Still hoping to take part this month if I can find time....but haven't started anything yet! :-o

Going to be a last minute effort if I manage anything all by the looks of things

Hey, same here. I have some cool presets, but nothing yet really. Just made a triple layered dune kick today which wasn't bad actually.

Just made a whole buch of patches yesterday and now I have a new concept track that is totally different from what I had earlier, but much more inspired :D

I always get my inspiration from the sounds I get, so it finally seems I'm getting somewhere with this one. For those that didn't figure it out yet, I'm using CM101. It is very limited compared to the other available synths (that's why I choose it, it's very challenging), but I'm very impressed about the sounds I'm getting from it.

I really want to take part in this month's OSC, but the only things I have right now are some presets and a weird, kinda Autechre-ish unfinished "track" using CM Dominator, that i don't know if i'll end up submitting or not.

Dominator is a pretty nice little synth, btw.

Click the Save button in the top right window in Synthmaster, then navigate to where the Synthmaster presets are and then write in the name and click Ok in the Windows dialog box. The preset will now appear in the list, although you might have to reload Synhtmaster for that to happen.

I thought you had gone for Scanned Synth CM as it seems to be the most basic beside CM 303, but maybe too limiting although very good sounding too.

For me Synthmaster CM sounds incredible and I like the GUI a lot too now, but quite tricky to make the drum sounds compared to Dune CM.
