Nope, but it sounded like they're slowly getting there. Nonlinear is just a 5-minute walk down the road from where I live, maybe I'll pay them another visit some day.

I wonder if U-he will grow to be as big as NI within the next decade or so. It would be nice to see two companies like that from germany offering the best in computer music products.

The company size is also a choice. We could grow quickly with just a few changes. But I doubt that it wold be fun and I don't think we would be delivering the same quality anymore.

That said, I'm quite certain that we have a better profit-per-employee ratio than any company with 50+ people in the music soft business. Not sure about hardware companies.

NI is not that high end while UHe is.

P.s.
How ever i would like to see Uhe grow much bigger, but they must keep the same or better quality then right now

Dave and Urs are 2 of my favorite synth makers. I could only hope there was a little admiration on both sides for their bodies of work. I might wish that Urs was showing Dave his new Diva "Pro One" modules though. ;)
Steven Slate wants become ur friend too.

Ok i'll agree with studio drummer, BFD 2 & 3 beat it in terms of sound and overall quality.

The acoustic piano library is kind of meh as well, but then again it fairly small in comparison to some of the bigger ones. PianoTeq is a physical modelling synthesizer so it is kind of unfair to compare it to a sampler.

The solid mix series are something I have never heard of used so i don't really have an opinion on that. I know Softube was behind their development and they make some fairly decent plugins.

Never heard slate digital or tested it. I know plenty of people who swear by it and others who go "meh"

Its all opinions really.

ok..... I hear you.
Disagree with you but hear you.
I love products from both developers.
And I think each have products that are subjectively the best at what they do...but they both also make products that are for me just ok..... For exsmple Uhbik.....I bought it from the pre-release and never used it once in an actual product, I find soundtoys and uad stuff way better for my sonic appetite. But it is all just personal taste. Similarly I haven't used Abysnth in forever......Other examples on both sides...
whereas I personally think Maschine, Kontakt, Reaktor, most of the FX series are top of the line products as I do for Diva, Zebra 2..

I assume you mean high end by quality not price points?

I actually own studio drummer, toontrack and addictive drums and although studio drummer uses more cpu than the other two, I don't think it is not as high end as the others. There are many instances where I find it works better in some of my production than the others....

At the end of the day, I think both developers have products used by top producers/composers in top of the heap productions/projects daily.....

Dave Smith has produced more junk (manufacturing problems) than the other two combined. Probably had a lot to do with others trying to figure out how to get around the nature of mass produced bad hardware trying to avoid recall. There were a handful of products I had and liked from SC, but once I had to deal with his companies, I never regained any trust in buying anything else from them.

There was an attitude at Sequential Circuits expressed in every one of their promo 'Ear Force' posters. If you have one of these look for the letters 'FOA'.
This seems to continue to this day.

And this is where U-HE shines with the lack of that attitude.
