Any chance of the AAX version being able to output midi to other instruments in pro tools real time?

Dunno yet. We have "MIDI Out" on our ever growing todo list, but as it's complicated to achieve in AU so far (supposed to change), we haven't given it a high priority.the19thbear wrote:Any chance of the AAX version being able to output midi to other instruments in pro tools real time?

Hi all!
Glad the update is received so well
I can confirm the hp/lp noise-bug as well as the filter-oddities in draft mode. The former is fixed already
Cheers,
- Clemens

Awesome. Let's try it. It's a wet synth freaks dream, two OSCs, two noise waveforms, one low-passed other high-passed, both keyboard tracked, mmmmcheppner wrote:Hi all!

that's how I did discover that bug, by messing with noise waveforms on both oscs hahaha, one noise waveform is never enough

Just did a first patch using one Supersaw Osc and the Uhbie filter. Sounds great.
Many thanks for publishing the public beta now.
As faras i could see in the Supersaw Osc CTRL 1 is for the detuning and CTRL 2 for "Mix" (= increasing the volume of the additional saws).

It certainly is. Any chance of getting a similar arp in ACE?richardb09 wrote:Wow, with the new digital JP8080 style Osc's and the combination of the Ubie filter ....Diva can take on a whole new sound.
I found myself creating those great Celestial new age pads of the past with ease and with great sound quality.
The new Arp is great too,

I see, yes the CTRL2 is cool. That aliasing effect is about the same in Fast, Great, and Divine. I assumed perhaps the JP-8000 had aliasing naturally, since it was an early VA. (I've never owned one.) A less aliasing button sounds neat. Didn't observe the same noises in the tri wave.Urs wrote:Possibly, yes. We sneaked that thing in that CTRL2 does, which isn't found in the original JP algorithms. It's a bit of a stunt due to the aliasing, but it's also too cool to not to do. Does switching to Great or Divine make a difference?Adrian B wrote:is the square wave (set to a pulse) supposed to have extreme aliasing or noise in high pitches?
Here's more news: We're going to add a "less aliasing" button, which internally replaces some of the "naive" algorithms with one using Zebra's rendering method or other means to bandlimit the waves. This will work wonders on some waveforms, but it won't help with the feedback oscillator.

Good read here about the JP-8000 it's well known for being the first and best synth made for Super Saw and having a lot of aliasing. The Aliasing is part of the JP-8000 famous sound. http://www.ghostfact.com/jp-8000-supersaw/

Yes, the JP aliases a fair bit, but not often as much as that square wave. In order to do "correct JP aliasing" we would have to run the oscillator at a fixed sample rate and resample in realtime. That's not really anything we would like to do.
As for the brilliance or tone of the oscillator - it is extremely close to the original, but the original JP doesn't have a non-linear filter. Diva's filters naturally cut some high freq content, not just because they're lowpass filters, but also because the distortion smooths out some spikes. That's most audible with ramping waveforms such as saw and triangle. Hence it doesn't even get all that better when using Multimode or Uhbie in Highpass modes - the distortion still cuts some top end and adds some growl.
I hope no-one will seriously ask us to add a clean digital filter now, with that in mind

Hi,
sorry if it has already been discussed here but what is the prefered way to cleanly uninstall Diva before installing this beta? Is there a way to preserve the license info file?

Usually you don't uninstall at all. You just install the new version over your old one. And you won't want to go backtappert wrote:Hi,
