I like #2 the most.... Got a Jonathan Ive vibe. I feel there's still some fine tuning (colour wise) to be done.
I agree with the comments about the wine/bordeaux colouring. Maybe just... don't.

Actually the color management was far from perfect - you couldn't change brigthness and saturation usually, so you could just slightly change the hue. Now everything is possible and you can even invert it all!

That said: I give up. Let's talk about burgundy and stuff all day long.

In any case, there's an agreement between most users that #2 is pretty good (except the colors)...
So I don't see so much disagreement between all users. And I absolutely haven't said that I want a 100 % hardware-looking GUI - I said I prefer SOME 3D and 2D elements and maybe SLIGHT (!) textures but that does NOT mean everything should be in 3D boxes with 3D shadows and 3D reflections...
In contrary, I said I HATE 100 % hardware-looking GUIs like PolyAna...
Why should Melda plugs look like 100 % hardware - there isn't any hardware version so far, so it wouldn't make sense, anyway.

I prefer #2.
3D elements used with caution can be helpful in order to make it easier separate sections of the GUI, but what's done in # 1 is too much. Overall I think I agree pretty much with Dark Stars comments.
Anyways, happy that so many agree that the hardware "look", all the shiny stuff, screws and even rack-handles won't be an option on Melda plugs
Regarding colors I really don't like the brownies stuff (dare I say shit) but since users can change to whatever color they like, if I understand you correct Vojtech, well there's not much more to say here.
Look forward to the update on the looks...
