I guess you like to put your own limits and see what you can do with these limits?
It's really simple. It was CM-505 or Dune. I always wanted to make a tune out of a percussion synth and this was the right time. And I like being limited; the creativity is really stimulated.

Now I really hate the track (happens with almost all my tracks) but I like some elements and some of the sequences; maybe I'll come back to it sometime for a no limitations v2.

SpectralBee - Darkwood Chase
Pros: Energic acid tune with nice FX sounds and evolving ideas coming in, that lead is hooking me. Nice mix and thick mastering.
Cons: Pay attention to pitches variations, don't make a track all the way thourgh in the same pitch, it can be very repetitive. And this kind of changes makes marvellous things in the listener ears.
Irion, thank you for the mini review. Really appreciate your thoughts.

A-Maze-Ing. :D

That was a legendary OSC I'd say. And I can't believe I managed to vote. :) Sorry, that I could only comment on a few tracks as I was off to a conference. Thanks for your all your kind comments. There where a lot of fives this time and it was a pleasure to listen all of your entries.

Long story short: Voted.

Believe me, it happens the same to me. I always hate the most of my tracks, never satisfied for one or another reason.
I started 10 different projects since the month started, and i was never satisfied with the first 9 of them.

At last, something matched to my taste, the aproaching deadline pressure made me to choose this last project in the end, Bzur can tell you how "naked" was the project when we were only at 3 days from deadline.
It was a pretty busy month for me. I think my track could have been much better, really. I think the success is a matter from listeners/fans, not from the artist itself. The artist only have to express some feelings in a skilled way, the listener loves it or hates it.

Anyway, congrats for that choice, the more limits you put yourself, the better you will be in no time.

I will unsubscribe from this thread now, i have a huge fear to the results this time and i prefer not to look.
I'm doing another track for another contest and it's very important to me to not being down while doing it.
I hope someone will come with good news for once.

Have a nice day and good luck everyone! :)

Pmj rit - The Inheritors
Pros: Such a misterious and dark melodic song with nice use of sounds, bass and chord progressions. I love the tension on it. It made remember of "Another World" video game soundtrack.
Cons: Use more different timbres, or the whole track will sound "monothematic" or "monotimbrical" (If these words ever existed). I know, you can do it the way you want, as it is your track, but have this in mind at least.
Irion

Thank you for taking the time to listen and write this.

I've been wondering whether to take it further. I can't still listen to it afresh at the moment so I've been doing other stuff at least for a few days. I actually wanted it to be even more seering, more intense. I think generally using a variety of sounds is good. Here I don't know. I was concerned not to detract from the atmosphere. If I was to extend it I would probably use gradually evolving versions of the current patches (achieved by automation). I would also try to give it more unity.

Have a good day and please do "get some rest". It is well earned.
