Hmmm
There probably should be an option to unerase aborted recording.
It's never happened to me though.
Loop recording would also be a lifesaver.

Possibly the most user friendly program out there.Certianly the only sequencer that you could almost not need the manual to use.I hope T2 turns out great, if not - I'll just keep T1 alongside Live4 (if that works as promised).
- T1 is still the most user friendly program for tracking - the only sequncer I can let my friends record me playing
think abort and restart - wow
K
Apparently Live 4 will now run up to 10% - 30% faster on a mac. Even the PC version will have a faster Live 4 engine.

From Ableton forum: "Please let us know about this MAC OPTIMIZATION because I have the latest 12' powerbook with a fast hd and lots of ram and my computer starts to glitch after about 6 or 7 tracks. - Please hook us mac lovers up."christianmusicmaker wrote:Possibly the most user friendly program out there.Certianly the only sequencer that you could almost not need the manual to use.I hope T2 turns out great, if not - I'll just keep T1 alongside Live4 (if that works as promised).

If you say 10 - 30% altivec boost, and this dude says 6 - 7 tracks on a new Powerbook on live 3, I wouldnt worry about competing with Tracktion! its more like a great friend you can jam with!

Either way I still think Live 4 and Tracktion will probably be the best combination out there although the inlcusion of midi features suggests Ableton disagree with this theory and clearly want Live 4 to be seen as the only application you need.
I hear Acid 5 may debut at the summer Namm event, I wonder if Tracktion 2 may make an apprearance as well?

If you are interested the Live 4 beta is now out.
I am interested to see how Live 4 has improved and how it might intergrate with Tracktion. I have a copy of the beta and will test it with Tracktion. Any other Tracktion users that have the beta let us know how you get on...
You need to have a copy of Live 3 already.

Maybe so but it causes weird stops and glitches on my 1.1 Pentium M with 512 MB RAM and Win XP Pro and a Audiophile USB with excellent ASIO drivers... Tracktion doesn't cause things like that!ModuLR wrote:if anything, I think eXT is more of a threat to Tracktion than anything else. It's getting an large number of new features weekly, it's pretty damn stable, it has a modular environment, you can compose in a clip based fashion (even automation!), and if you are clever, you can compose midi with it LIVE (right now) and it's $40 cheaper.

Despite the fact that I'm porting some of the bastards (frae PC til Macoroni) I aint never used em!! If I'd spend half as much time doing music as I do on this ruddy foreskin, I mean forum, I'd be a bloody genius with several albums on the go!drez wrote:And Rack filters aren't a bit odd?Karbon L.
