It was something I did in an attempt to enable people to edit the bitmaps themselves. Not the smartest move without having the "default" bitmaps inside the plugin and providing some way to load alternative versions from the appdata dir.RunBeerRun wrote:Xhip sounds great, and from what I remember was decent on Cpu usage, I stopped following the updates when it took an installer.
Should be solved, somehow, in the next version.

What does his (in)ability to release a free synth have to do with his coding intellect? And where did he claim to be a dsp genius? Guess I missed that.
im half kidding.... but he does like to help devs here who's code isnt up to his standard

Actually it is counter-productive to focus on raising your standards. Getting the job done is more about making sacrifices and looking for the easy way out rather than investing effort to find the best possible trade-off in every situation.Kriminal wrote:im half kidding.... but he does like to help devs here who's code isnt up to his standard
That is one of the major differences between Xhip vs. other projects I've worked on. Xhip is somewhere that I actually can invest that massive amount of effort focusing on trivial needless things in the hope that maybe, by random chance the result might be beneficial. I think in many ways it has.
Everything is a trade-off
