In expert mode and attack set to "smash", the release behavior with negative program dependency is weird.. it doesn't work at all like it does with the other modes and doesn't seem to work the way I remember the last version worked (unfortunately I was stupid and replaced the old file so I can't very it!).

Anybody else noticed this?
It doesn't seem to sound different from positive program dependency, -100 or +100 to my ears sounds the same, if that's what you mean. This is different in the other modes.
I restored the "old" version, but that behavior was the same there.
Ok, good to know. It's my memory failing me.

Cheers!

DC8C2 preset system doesn't work in Maschine (Just shows categories and no presets) not the preset browser on the plugin itself but in Maschine itself.
SDRR is fine out of interest.

For a laugh I just tried DC1A-2 as a mastering compressor:

Set Input and Output Gain to taste, around maximum 2.5dB of gain reduction, Deep On (so the bass didn't make it too sucky), Relaxed On (for more transparent levelling), Dual Mono On (for slightly enhanced stereo width), and toying with the Negative On and Off to see which sounded best, and MAN did it sound good on a high BPM Psy Trance track! Now off to play with the new DC8C-2!

Strange. It seems sidechaining doesn't working anymore after update in Logic. I can hear its input pressing at "listen", but output (and meters) aren't affected regardless threshold parameter.

please send me a mail with your specs. I'm currently working on the next DC8C update and would like to provide you with the beta next week to make sure that the ext SC version is working on your end. It's working fine here in Logic 9.1.8 and I am sure it's just a small issue that prevents the ext SC to work properly on your end.

Please forgive me for misinformation. I tryed new project and SC worked correctly. When I returned into my old project and found the cause of problem - it is totally unrelated to DC8C. :dog:

Are there any new regarding TH products ? I see the site was redesigned...

Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

The redesign of the site is more a side effect of the complete rewrite. The old site was working fine, but was a complete mess code wise, and adding new plugins or applying changes in general was a PITA. It's in a healthy state now and maintaining it will be a bliss in the future :-)
Furthermore, I've been working on a new compressor, well actually two of them. Initially, I wanted them to combine in a single plugins. But in the end I have split them into two separate plugins, since they are completely different and apart from the VU meter code don't use the same code.
Both compressors will complement DC8C perfectly, as they follow an entirely different (analog modelled) route.
Also, the split eliminated the need for compromises having both comp under one hood.
The first comp will be a variable-mu type. The other compressor is a classic diode style solid state compressor. Both comp will have way less controls than DC8C, but will still offer some unique features/ways to manipulate the compression characteristics and the overall tone.
I still need a few weeks before they are ready for beta. So I hope they'll be out in September or early October. I'd love to put out new plugins in shorter intervals. But I'm just too obsessed with all these tiny details, that releasing more than one or two plugins per year isn't realistic for me.
When the first beta is out I'll also start porting all Klanghelm plugins to AAX.

I'll keep you posted,

Tony

keep up the great work Tony :tu:

Yep, looking forward to these! Less complicated compressors would be most welcomed (even though DC8C has an easy mode of course). I'm sure the quality will be excellent as usual.

Wow that's some great news !! :D

Cool news. Just curious, will any of the new stuff have a look-ahead feature?
