Thanks. That's just a default layout as apparently I have to pay to customise, so I just went with the least obnoxious template on the first page of options

I'm a fan of your original completist approach for what it's worth. It can be difficult to determine what someone might find useful or beautiful. If you do pare it down I'd at least hope all of the waves you show in the original video make it into the set.

It can be very discouraging these days, constantly creating, writing, seemingly into a wall of silence, so it's nice to know I have a couple of readers at least. I'm hoping when I build up more posts I'll be able to network a bit with some of the blogs that inspired me.

If it is any consolation, I did read your blog, but couldn't think of anything worthwhile to mention on it as a comment. I don't know where your other thread went, but (long story short) I found out that wasn't really any Tame Impala band members that commented on one of my tunes a couple of years ago. I have other stories, but I won't hijack your thread.

Ack, I shouldn't complain, I used to have a lot of banter with music lovers, both IRL and online, and I don't so much these days, so some days it gets me down. I live somewhere where there... isn't much culture... where likeminded people are hard to come by. "So move", they say, asif it's always that simple. It isn't.

Please, don't let me stop anyone from interjecting. I do it all the time in other people's threads and think it's fine as long as it doesn't drown out or obstruct the thread starter's purpose.

On the one hand I've had some positive things happen for me that I didn't seriously think would ever happen for me, that I'm enthusiastic about, though at the same time I don't want to come across as too awfully self-centered & bragging too much. At the same time it is nice to share common interests with people. I have learned you can't be bashful if you want people to hear your tunes. Listening to others people's music is the best way to get people to listen to your own, though that works better on some forums better than others. There is a guitar oriented forum I could tell you about, though they tolerate synth music there. It takes a time commitment, but many of the people there are good about returning the favor of listening to one's tunes. If your interested, send me a private message.

Aaron - thanks, but I'm looking to invest (and let's face it, that's what it's become these days

) time in a more chiptune/videogame oriented forum, because I'm also looking for collaborators for game design, and devs who are looking for chiptunes for their games. I was really hoping one would have contacted me by now, but as you've pointed out, you sadly have to be quite vocal and persistant to even get noticed online these days. It's kinda sad that artists have to beg just for a "like" - one click, and have now become the consumers of programs and schemes designed to help them get more visibility - I can remember when making something for others was considered a favour, but now there are so many creators that the tables have turned. Rightly or wrongly we're now paying to have our music listened to

This gets even more absurd when you consider those who ARE selling stuff - using thousands of pounds of equipment to produce a one dollar song. No wonder the only music that's really visible anymore is that designed to be unfalteringly commercial.

and come from a time where things were quite different.

JPRacer - yes all the wavetables were created by hand, a bit time consuming, but also fun, in the way that certain other passtimes present an obstacle of tedium but the promise of reward for completing it. It's very satisfying to hear a completed wavetable after working on it for 10-30 minutes

Once we've managed to get old, I thought we are entitled to be as bitter as we please. Am I doing it wrong?
