Just saying :P
Right? This was funny in 2009, when none of us were being serious.

I simply don't care about end results. I've been a 5 year old for 25 years now, all I care about is the toys (hard or soft).

Hardware is more fun if:

- You know to play keys and then you enjoy improvising on a synth.
- The synth has performance features
- You have some one else to jam with
- The synth/drum machine has a good sequencer
- The synth/drum machine has a good user interface
- You have a mixer/good audio interface to get flexible routing.

Was scouring the usual internet pages and went of on a tangent.

Anyway this is pretty amazing. Never heard of Beardyman till now...very talented.

By the way I love my vst plugins and have a many favourites.

However how hooked up the JD800 today, very old synth but the joy.

Instant gratification press the power switch, amp, volume and go.

No waiting for PC to boot, loading host, then vst and setting it all up.

Threads as relevant now as it was in 2009.

The responsiveness of hardware is actually noticeably better...going to get me some more of them hardwares someday soons :)

My hardware is more fun when I press down a special key and it plays a little melody.

I'm kind of a nomad, so I prefer portable setups that can travel with me. I guess this is why I ended up selling Maschine and a few other things in the past. One thing that does strangely appeal to me though are modular synthesizers. However financially i can't see a good reason to save up for a modular when I can get a much more powerful software setup for a similar price.

I will probably just save up for these things

- studio headphones
- midi keyboard w/ aftertouch, pots, sliders, modwheel, pitchwheel, velocity sensitive drum pads
- Ableton Push
- Portable but powerful set of Studio Monitors
- HQ Audio Interface with good AD/DA converters and solid drivers

10-15 years ago I tried all tricks to avoid noise.
After years with noise free plugins I've started to love noise and imperfect recordings. I've even started to appreciate the humming sound of ground loops.

Ah you'd best listen to the recording I posted above in this case as it doesn't just have ground-loop induced hum, oh no. It has a power supply with only half rectification and every single amplifier in the audio path is either class-A (single transistors) or discrete opamps with resistors as current sources, that is, three transistors each. This provides a lovely enormous hum on the power rails and very little to no common mode / power supply rejection.

Special one just for you with extra hum :)
