automation not real clip based-
more timeline oriented
not good for clip changeing composituion
more oldstyle......
the values will not reseted on clip start or next clip
in next clip kill all sounds values
strange
in maschine or ableton is this better
they have on underground the instrument patch position in the line
i can not work with this
for me a basic think
i will wait för update

actually you can create all kinds of automation in clips that are stored in the clip launcher and drop them in sequence and links it all together.. not sure what you are talking about once again.

There is some strange, possibly buggy behavior.
Setup:
Instrument track with an E-Clap, we'll automate the decay.
1 - Make a clip with a clap every quarter note, then duplicate it twice, so you have clips A, B, and C.
2 - Set decay full CCW.
3 - Add some absolute automation of decay in Clip A, ensuring that it is above 0 at the end of the clip.
4 - Play A and queue B.
5 - Decay stays where it was at the end of A throughout B.
6 - Back in A's automation, select and delete all the absolute automation. Add some additive automation with the same requirements as before.
7 - Repeat 5 & 6 and observe that the same thing happens.
8 - Now add some absolute automation to B.
9 - Just to convince yourself it works, go ahead and play it and see that it behaves as expected.
10 - Now select it all and delete it. Leave A's automation in place.
11 - Play A again, queue B, and observe that instead of holding the decay at the position it was in at the end of A, it returns to the decay knob position, even though there is no more automation in this clip! To convince yourself you can even move the decay knob around and try it again, and see that it always jumps to the knob position at the start of B.
12 - Play A then C and observe that C, which never had any automation edited, still carries over the automated position from A.

here is an actionPsykel wrote:actually you can create all kinds of automation in clips that are stored in the clip launcher and drop them in sequence and links it all together.. not sure what you are talking about once again.
you play a clip-A WITH CUTOFF CLIPEND VALUE IS 65
the next clip-B will start with 65
the you c hange to clip -c
clip-c will end with 95
you go return to clip -b
clib start now with 95
with 10 parameters or more
you need a day for correcturing
timeline based automation ist not good for pattern based arrangement

I did this with no issues. Are you drawing automation in the arrangement lanes or the clip launcher? I did notice some strangeness when doing automations in the arrangement lanes themselves, slightly similar to what contrast mentions, but I think that its a combination of confusion on where the automation "lives" (lane vs. clip).hardy hardy wrote:here is an actionPsykel wrote:actually you can create all kinds of automation in clips that are stored in the clip launcher and drop them in sequence and links it all together.. not sure what you are talking about once again.

What he is saying happens definitely does happen, in a fresh project, with no automation anywhere but in the clips.
For whatever reason, if you add some absolute automation (I didn't try the other kinds...) to the parameter in clip B, then delete it, it will then return to the knob position for that parameter, instead of holding over the automated value from other clips. (I did not mess around with multiple parameters).
Seems like a bug to me, but I'm not certain of the intended behavior.

When I draw automation in clips like in the attached picture then drag and drop them randomly in arrangement or trigger them randomly in clip launch I don't seem to experience this. Either way, Im sure there is a bug somewhere that probably needs to be ironed out.
