This severely limits the usefulness of Egoist as an audio slicer
Please fix! Will not be able to really use this plugin w/out this basic funtionality.
Thanks for the reply. I must be misunderstanding this. I have "External" selected. But when I start the host (Ableton Live 9 or Studio One), egoist doesn't start the pattern playback . . . does one always have to use the midi note to start the sequencer?Sugar Bytes wrote:we decided to always start egoist with a midi note.
with internal clock selected, the midi note will restart egoist,
with external clock selected, egoist will start at the the current song position.
using egoist always with midi notes, (unless you are jamming around with the internal playbutton)
is what we considered easier to use than an additional option that you would have to look after,
as soon as you wanna switch between host and midi start.
but we are thinking about this option,

Yes, don't throw out the baby with the bathwater! The 'legato' behavior of previous/original 'external sync' was useful (Izotope's Breaktweaker works in this same way and it is definitely a great creative feature').Orbit-50 wrote:The original behavior was much more fun and creative IMO. The song position triggering was cool because you were able to start the pattern at different points synced to the host playback position.
Not to panic, but again I must insist upon the return of the previous 'legato' ability of external sync via MIDI note triggering…it was a deciding factor in my purchase and having it dismissed based on a forum comment is not sitting well with meSugar Bytes wrote:we decided to always start egoist with a midi note.

Perfectly said! What makes the Legato mode so cool also was the fact that it made Egoist more of a design forward plugin, which will take part in creating tomorrows music. Please don't move backwards in time. Your vision for Egoist was perfect the first time.Loopy C wrote:'Legato' mode is a unique feature for slicers and I think you were right with the first release, please put it back. Have the DAW sync a option in preferences if necessary but don't dumb down this feature!!! Thanks in advance
