It's a bit like asking: I already have an espresso machine, do I need a dishwasherstevemac wrote:Hi guys,
Just saw Serum advertised and seems to be a lot of fans for this already.
Now this is in no way bashing it (because it looks lovely), but as I own Camel Audio Alchemy, is there much that Serum provides that I can't do with Alchemy? Is it the GUI / workflow people are most excited about?
I haven't gone deep into the Serum specs etc so apologies if there are some glaring differences
Cheers guys and congratulations Steve, looks like you're onto a winner - good for you dude!
P.S. Thanks for making LFO tool, probably the most useful tool I have in my toolkit
Alchemy doesn't do wavetable synthesis, it imports/resynthesises long or short samples/waveforms in more or less good quality either in additive or spectral mode, but it doesn't generate table from those imports and it doesn't provide the tools, Serum does.
