Email support , in my experience they are top notch.momalle3 wrote:Really liking presswerk. Tried the beta, and decided to buy it.
What a mess?! U-he has no record of my previous purchase of Satin, although I have a licensed copy working. And though they sent me a serial number for my purchased copy of Presswerk, it won't let me enter it
Hey guys, you kind of need to get the business end together.
Meanwhile, really liking the plugin

While we surely have your account on record for support purposes, we have no way to tap into the systems of our reseller. It would be the security hole from hell if data from our server could be used to process credit card transactions on our reseller's system. You can however use "social logins" and cookies if you would like to forgo this kind of security.momalle3 wrote:Really liking presswerk. Tried the beta, and decided to buy it.

Here's a bit more information about it, albeit from the other perspective:

Mail support at u-he dot com, tell them about your host and maybe add a screenshot of the very moment before you hit Apply in the reg dialog. And though they sent me a serial number for my purchased copy of Presswerk, it won't let me enter it

Thanks Urs. I did email about the missing Satin license, waiting on a reply.
What happens with Presswerk--I dowloaded the beta, and used the beta serial number, and now I can't enter the serial number issued when i purchased presswerk. I'm going to try deleting the original Au component, and then reinstalling

No, that didn't work. Presswerk still says "registered to beta tester," and there's no way to change the registration--clicking in the window doesn't do anything.
I have a serial number for the purchased copy pf presswerk but no way to enter it

You need to delete the file in which the beta serial is. Go to Presswerk.data\Support and delete com.u-he.Presswerk.user.txt. Now the next time you run Presswerk you'll be able to input your serial.

You must have it, search your whole filesystem for that file (but I think it might be in Application Support - not sure, I'm a W7 user). It's where registration data is stored.

Thank you kindly for your suggestions--I found the file name and directory path in the user manual, and deleted all the suggested fuiles, but it still shows up as "regstered to beta user."
Just to be clear, I deleted the AU component itself, then

Ive always hated compression. That is, as far as my limited experience with software is concerned. Nevertheless, I use it very often and always my approach to the dials is completely intuitive and by ear. It feels like the main reason I have always dreaded the compression side of producing was because none of the compressors I have used, and that is quite a few, seem to react to the audio in quite the way that I always intuitively felt it could. Shortly after grabbing the dial for threshold on Presswerk and rotating it in a counterclockwise direction all of that ended. I really really like this thing! Danke U-he!
Who is "I"? What is "I"? This has yet to be explained.

Thats really interesting--I kind of had the same feeling. i have a lot of good software comps, i really don't need another, but Presswerk just seemed to produce the sound I was imagingin more easily, especially the opto model. I have no idea if it sounds like the hardware version but I really like what it does, and it feels more like what I want it to do.

Yeah, I'm not a guy to ask about comparisons or the subtleties of its dynamics. But, I can tell you that I like it! And in my own experience that says a lot..... to me at least. It also gives me the peace of mind of knowing where to reach in a given situation, which is really what I'm after with my plugins.
I get tired of the feeling like: "Well damn, if I could just get in and make this subtle tweak to my sound without killing it, it would be almost perfect. Maybe if I blah blah blah with this or that compressor, tweaking the ADSR envelope on the synth slightly and EQ'ing it will do the trick". And then I do all of that over an hour or so and I think "Yep, completely f#%cked it again".

I came to U-He looking for a good phaser. I own over half the catalog now. Urs, why are you forcing me to spend all my money with such great software? Life used to be so simple before I met your products. Now, I have an unquenchable thirst to own it all, like a zombie wanting to eat more brains. Thanks a lot.

If I'm not mistaken, then we already took care of this via eMail earlier today and everything's OK now, right?lee52813 wrote:It always show as "Registration failed".
