I've owned both a MK II and MK III over the years and Oddity2 stands up incredibly well against those models. The 4035 filter model (Moog based filter) has a very different character again to that in Diva or Monark (or The Drop for that matter). Not better or worse, just different.Hemmick Reef wrote:I just tested the demo and it does sound great next to Monark and SH-2 as a polysynth.
Does anybody have a real Odyssey to compare mono/duophonic patches?
In fact, I love passing Oddity1/2 through The Drop for a little thickening/sweetening, they make for very good bedfellows. Doing that classic MS 20 style HP filter trick via the SMP model in The Drop adds some lovely harmonic richness to the lower frequencies.
The 15 minute walkthrough video Dave Spiers posted of the original ARP Odyssey is a very good place to start when comparing the mono/duophonic patches.
