Correct, you would use the sample and hold module to emulate a lower sample rate.

Each Bazille Oscillator already IS an LFO with keytracking.
no? They're not? An OSC produces sound, a LFO doesn't, for starters...
An OSC could be used as an LFO, true, but they're NOT the same.
In Bazille, wire an LFO to the Output and turn up the rate and it will indeed make sound.

As others have pointed out, the LFO's in Bazille run at control rate, not audio rate. But that is a design choice, not something inherent to the concept.

Try ACE for example... the LFO's there ARE Oscillators in every sense. ACE has 4 Oscillators with 2 of them presented as LFO's.

Bazille has 4 Oscillators and 2 LFO's. Something about code optimization in 4's means it would take more cpu to make the Bazille LFO's run at audio rate.

Anyway, Waldorf made their LFO have some specific functionality that gives it the sound you like. A Bazille LFO that could keytrack would still not do that. That is specific to Waldorf, not an LFO.

Okay, just for fun I made this with Bazille with LFO1 as the only sound source... :-)

I wasn't aware the LFO's in Bazille are able to make sound as one can wire them to an audio output :)

I have been experimenting with this "feature" ever since the discussion. Wanted to thank you guys for pointing it out!

True. I am indeed aware that Bazille's LFO's are running at control rate. Blofeld has the LFO's running in a different way. I do not know if they're running at audio rate. However, since this discussion, i've been able to get quite deep with Bazille. Thanks (again) for 'helping' :) Great stuff. Bazille could replace my Blofeld anytime!

LFOs in Blofeld are most certainly not running at full audio rate.

I agree. However, keytracking is to certain amount possible with some interesting results.

Keytracking has nothing to do with audio rate, though...

Not really, but i suppose pointing out the difference helps if you want to be all authentic about it.

(i don't have a blofeld, i have been curious if they have dsp lfos or some very old school sample rate changing sample based ones)

I am aware of that. Not saying it is either.

The keytracking amount you can apply to the lfo section isn't enough to get the full playable audio range either in the Blofeld. I think it is following from F3 to G6 @110 speed/100% kt.

I think the lfo's are sample based. It is also possible to have them clocked. Nice feature btw. Not sure though

Well, we believe that, as the normal oscillators in Bazille can act as LFOs, we can get away with cut down features for the normal LFOs.

Understood, Bazille already has 4 very capable osc's.

Everything in Blofeld is DSP based. LFOs aren't samples. With Licence SL, oscillators can playback samples, though. But not LFOs.

What is the audio rate they're working on?

44.1k I think.
