That'd be great. :)

Happy Holidays Everyone!! I wanted to post this before Christmas but I got dragged into the Christrmas cheer machine... ;)

Here's one to add to the community batch (thanks, bmrzycki, for gathering the flock, so to speak ;) ). I like to play around with "realistic" sounds on a new synth because it gives me a guideline to see how far I can shape things with the available tools, so this patch is a basic e.guitar patch. left side is sustain, right side is picking and MW goes from the full sound to a muted picked sound. In-between settings are useful too.

The reason I called it "meta" is that there's just so many ways to customize it: changing waveforms (try using narrow pulse on sub1 for a more single coil sound), EQ, Dist & Comp (which I didn't use in the saved patch), the many MM adjustments, not to mention optimizing the pick sound and response... It's very velocity sensitive, so that might need adjusting depending on your controller and playing style. The only vibrato available via AT and wiggling your finger, which is actually pretty natural (I doubled the AT modulation to pitch to do that) and you can also bend with AT and combine it with the PW, so heavy-handed playing can cause tuning issues. BTW, I manage to use 10 of the 12 MM slots on this one... and it's still a WIP really...

Anyway, hope you get something out of it. Again, a great holiday season to all!

More Hive. Addictive synth, almost as much as Bazille (which is still my favourite). I love that Hive is a streamlined machine with limits. A superb synth in my humble opinion, which does exactly what it is meant to do. It is fun trying to coax non-supersounds out of it as well.

I started off trying to recreate the default Sylenth ARP 303 Saw, but couldn't really get it to sound anywhere close. So I just played around with it and made a variant that i quite like (modwheel does filter stuff).

I'd prefer a BYH engine ("Build Your Hype")! :hyper:

3 seems like enough... Sylenth has 1 and it is very successful...

If it somehow feels like something is lacking, then those 3 need to be tweaked, not add a 4th

But what if, say, you do like the detune sound of the normal engine, but you don't like the filter. Wouldn't it be great to have the filter of another engine then, so you can build your preferred engine? I proposed elsewhere to fully get rid of the engine thing, because it would be so much more flexible to be able to arrange these essentially imported elements to your liking. A BYO engine would do just that. Even though i still wonder of what use the whole engine thing then would be, except for markting buzz. I know, having the different filter types, and envelopes to choose from in drop down menus would bloat the whole thing, but then i wonder why they're there in the first place, when the decision was a simplicistic approach. 3 engines with parameters who need to be explained thoroughly to get them seems a bit... well, geeky. I'm sure it would be as straight as it can be, if they were just listed in the list of filters, even when people are not familiar with the specific terms. And the envelope settings in the respective envelope section. When i saw that Hive has different engines, and i changed them, i wouldn't have thought in dreams that it would drastically change the filters, envelopes, and detuning laws. Well, enough ranted. :P

I like the 3 engines concept... and that the 3 engines change a variety of things. I don't believe it is necessary to be able to do every combination like Diva. Lots of people already find Diva too complicated.

Maybe the 3 engines could still use some tweaking... If you are not liking a particular filter from one of the engines, the answer is not to make it more flexible so you can avoid that filter, but rather to make the filter one you appreciate.

Actually, those are vital parts of the 'engine' (detuning laws being the possible exception). Perhaps some people think of these things as merely modifiers of "THE ENGINE SOUND". In reality, they do more to make 'the sound' of a specific subtractive synth than most other features/characteristics.
