Sweet, thanks Waldorf!
Still expensive. I was able to buy Glowfish on the iPhone App Store for $2. :hihi:
How well does it run on your computer? :hihi:

Really looking forward to using new Attack and especially D-pole. PPG Wave 2.2 looks good in my eyes too. I always wanted to like d-pole, but it never worked properly and the knobs were horrible.

Are these new Waldorf Edition versions replacing the old ones or are they a new install?

So?!
Will the Attack version for PC/Mac be the same one as in the iPad version? Or will keep the same old one but with new skin?

What is currently shown at the Waldorf website and also at NAMM does not represent the final stages of the Nave plugin and Waldorf Edition 2. Both are still work in progress and until the final versions several bug fixes and new/improved features should be added.

This means that people should be careful with final judgements at the moment.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as we find time we will also re-check the existing plugins like e.g. Largo, PPG Wave 3.V and Waldorf Edition (version 1.7.4) and try to fix remaining bugs there if necessary. Bug reports for those are still welcome.
You could either send me a PM or post the bug in the existing thread:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... &start=735

Last but not least you could also expect more new software products from Waldorf in the future. :)

Several questions, one still unanswered:

1) What will the upgrade be from "Steinberg" Waldorf Edition users to Waldorf Edition 2? Or is that considered a "re-purchase"?

2) Not mentioned still: E-Licenser mandatory for Waldorf Edition as well?

3) Will the Waldorf Edition PPG Wave have a Wavetable view like the old version, what about "sorted" presets this time around?

4) Will Attack get a Pattern Mode on Win/Mac like the iOS version?

5) Crossgrade prices for iOS NAVE users available?

Thanks, Ingo.

1) 10 €, do you really have to ask? -> http://www.waldorf-music.info/overview- ... -edition-2
2) Don't know.
3) I've never seen this "wavetable view" in the old version.
5) I doubt it.

I have a question too...
Will Nave iPad work as a midi controller for the plugin?

I do not own an iPad so could not check this.

Yes I have - as this implies that you have the WALDORF EDITION (re-release Nov 2006), not the Steinberg Waldorf Edition (2002/2003). Waldorf did offer a "crossgrade" for half the price of the re-released edition if you jumped from the Steinberg one. But only if you asked.

If they say "funk it - pay 10 bucks" this would be great for the really old users, but they'd loose out a lot of money in the process as well.

Details...

T-CM11 wrote:2) Don't know.
Which is why I asked the beta forum manager!

T-CM11 wrote:3) I've never seen this "wavetable view" in the old version.
Now that you mention it, I must mix that with the PPG Wave v.3

T-CM11 wrote:5) I doubt it.
Again - question for the Beta forum manager.

Considering that it obviously has become obsolete in 2006, i would say it is safe to say that you'd have to purchase the Waldorf Edition new. Unless they're nice, and allow you to when you send them a support mail. I never even have seen it mentioned anywhere as an upgrade option to the Waldorf Edition on their website, so i guess it's obsolete a loooong time. Weird that you ask about it now.

Thanks, Ingo.
1.) This is a quite special case and i am not 100% sure about this yet.
It could be possible that users of the old Steinberg Waldorf Edition have to buy the upgrade version of Waldorf Edition. Not sure if a special upgrade version will be available for walodrf Edition 2.
Best would be to wait until the final release or contact waldorf support.

I know that customers of the old Steinberg PPG Wave 2.V plugin could purchase the upgrade version of PPG Wave 3.V.
Users of the old Waldorf Edition with a CD protection (not sure about the Steinberg one) should contact support for a new serial if they want to use the latest updates (v1.7.4).

I am involved with plugin testing (Nave, Waldorf Edition 2, updates for other plugins) and for Waldorf Edition 2 also collecting bug reports from the testers (same for updates of the older plugins) but not with sales/prices (there i do not know more than what is available officially).

2.) Copy protection for Waldorf Edition will stay a serial like with the recent updates (v1.7.4)

3.) Don't know which "Wavetable view" you mean. What exactly do you mean concerning "sorted" presets?

4.) Development of Waldorf Edition 2 is not finished yet so i could not finally answer this. Anyway for the iPad the pattern editor is more important than with a plugin in a DAW at PC/Mac.

5.) No idea.

I didn't see the word Steinberg... I really have to read slower.

I've never seen an iOS crossgrade. Maybe because you're buying apps directly from Apple, and thus are not in the Waldorf "customer list" for the apps. It's just a thought...

It wasn't obsolete years ago - and actually Waldorf was always very accommodating (Kulant) towards their customers. Especially the old ones that got "dropped" by Steinbeg (the Waldorf Edition especially, let's not talk about A1).

I ask about it now because I never really saw a need to upgrade. Which means, not quite - I wanted to upgrade at some point, then my work shifted more into engineering rather than songwriting, I moved to anther town and I used Attack/D-Pole less and less through the years.

Time flies.

Guess the support route is(!) the ideal way to go indeed.
Ingonator wrote:2.) Copy protection for Waldorf Edition will stay a serial like with the recent updates (v1.7.4)
So only NAVE will get the E-Licenser treatment. I'm fine either way. I only asked for completeness sake.
Ingonator wrote:3.) Don't know which "Wavetable view" you mean. What exactly do you mean concerning "sorted" presets?
Again, I could mix it with v.3 (view). But the presets for PPG Wave 2.v were never really sorted in groups of bass, arps, pads. Unless that changed post v1.5. I do remember an old KVR thread where a user actually upgraded these presets to get them sorted. This was around the time where the Edition resurfaced end of 2006 - after over 4 years of "discontinuation"

Understandable - would still be a nice evolution however.

Maybe this will surface once the VSTi are about to be released.
Thanks for checking anyway.
