I mean, in a support mail I already was told that comping is on their wishlist and they probably will implement it exactly how I suggested it (where I could take the information from that they're really likely to realize it) but he didn't say anything about a date for this.

But it is referring to items in lanes, and items don't go in automation lanes. Unless they added automation items, but that would surprise. I don't remember anybody asking for that.

The other entries in that category are from the preexisting "selection navigation" category.

It's looking to me like it is something to do with comping... :o

ok, yes..that would be pretty nice

Wait. :dog: These actions already exist. False alarm. I used the wrong focus when I searched for them in the shortcut window the first time.

That focus sensitivity can be confusing... Also that they call it "lanes" instead of "tracks."

HOLY SNICKLEFRITZ THIS LOOKS AMAZING...

Because that already exists? Well, sort of, anyway. I've been making midi clips (monophonic) and using timbre automation. Drag clip back to browser and it saves. "8 bar tmb rise" "16 bar tmb rise" "1/4 tmb fall", etc etc. Throw a notemod on an instrument and assign tmb to param.

If this is wrong or there's a faster/better way, I'm all ears! :phones:

amazing! never thought of doing this. gonna make a load of timbre automation presets now... thanks! :clap:

@Ogopogo You're right, they do exist! :lol: I just read "lane" and thought "automation". I don't mind the terminology. Audio and midi clips really just use one of the many possible lanes in a track. I find it odd if no one has requested more fancy stuff for the automation lane. Some really cool things could be added, like the sort of stuff Studio One has. The tools there now are good but there's definitely room for some more tricks. Would be great if we could save automation data as clips that then later could be dropped into an automation lane and further transformed with things like cropping, stretching, shifting/offsetting content, skewing and amplitude curve.

@Powermat Good idea :tu:

Maybe they're referring to the device lane?

With those actions, lane just refers to track. They are actions that let you change the selected clip in the arrange with the arrow keys. Basic stuff, but I just didn't recognize the terminology.
