That's what I'm seeing too. Then it should be available when I get back from school on Thursday. Two days, 16 hours and 25 minutes from now should be around noon. Hopefully the update won't be too big of a download. I'd like to be able to play with it over the weekend, but we have company coming in the evening, and I want to try to catch the new Avengers movie. I need more hours in the day!
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

Well, maybe playing with it over the weekend won't be possible. But I'm definitely buying my upgrade on Thursday.

Question re Omnisphere 1: Do I need to install all 50GB, or can I pick and choose which sounds I'd like?
I don't have 50GB available right now and I'm only really interested in the vocal stuff.

I do suspect the answer will be a no though :(

Also, I know this has been done to death but £300 is a hell of a lot of money to throw down without a demo

You've answered your own question. The install is the install.

As for demoing, find the closest local retailer and see if they have one setup. Yes, $500 is a lot of money to shell out. That's why you make sure it's something you want BEFORE you buy it.

Back in the days when there was no software and you bought a hardware synth that cost $2,500, you went to the store, played it and then decided if you wanted it or not. There was no bringing it home to try out.

I sometimes think that today's generation is a little bit spoiled in that regard.

Yes exactly, and how does sir suggest I do that?
(Assuming no stores around me have it set up)

I think you'll find I am part of the oldskool gen ;) So please don't call me spoilt before you've fully understood the facts.

EDIT: To be fair the "spoiled" comment wasn't directly at me, so I'll give the benefit of the doubt 8)

actually, a recent kvr poll found that many of us are of the older persuasion.

i'm sure wagtunes takes advantage of available demos and is just as 'spoilt' as the rest of us (are now)

grr grrr.....you kids don't know you're born.......grr, get off my lawn :smack:

Yeah, there's a challenge. Real tough one that.

The point is, since you are of the old school gen, what did you do before instant download gratification? Hell, what did you do before the Internet?

That's why I made the comment I did and stand by it. Yes, we're damn spoiled. Me too. But guess what? If a product requires me to actually get off the PC and go to the store to buy it (which I have done more than once in my life) I go and do it and don't complain about it.

And when I wanted to sell my old keyboards, I couldn't just transfer stuff to another account and get paid instantly like you can do today. I had to load that damn thing into the car (Yamaha CS was a bitch) and bring it to the store.

Yes, we're spoiled. Omnisphere has no in home demo. Find a way to make that work if you really want the synth.

I mean it's not like you have a choice, right?
