mux patches

No, waveforms will still always be embedded, cfr my previous post. The change would only affect used samples. Note that technically (from code pov) waveforms and samples (and a sample grain is a part of a sample) are different things. Abandonning embedding samples and always linking them will be an easier and more transparant system, i think. Feel free to discuss.

Sure! Nothing will change, only the way used samples are reloaded when loading a project/preset. No functionality lost, only gaining easiness and transparancy.

Tandrums v1.2 (prototype with interface)
(made with MuLab v6.4.23)
Category: Drums
Range: MuDrum (but keys are closer to GM standards)
Special: All synth drums [mux], very experimental cymbals
Idea behind it:
Every now and then I want to make a new synth drum set, hoping to get more and more convincing, useful and/or exciting set together. Since I've learned about the MultiForm oscillator, I figured, I should give it another go again. I've had an interesting idea about cymbals, hihats and the likes, so this is my first attempt at it, but I believe it could get more exciting later on. Anyway...it's fun, I'm sure!

Quick tip to users who quickly wanna try presets posted here:
If the zip file only contains a single file with extension .Mux, then you can directly drag-drop the .Mux file straight from the zip interface onto a empty rack slot or onto an existing MUX patch/editor. No need to do an intermediate save.

Here's a silly little demo track with a bunch of my patches!
taron-demo01.zip
This demo features: choir, matty, pluck hard, tandrums and dreamy EP
bibz, please, please, do not post any demo tracks for your patches in my thread! And, please, consider making your own thread for patches for clarity's sake, you know.

Upon loading the project there are missing Choir_wt and matty_wt samples. Did you use "Export Consolidated Project" ?Taron wrote:Here's a silly little demo track with a bunch of my patches!

AH, thanks, Jo, no, I didn't! I've updated the zip!
Amazingly, and I really mean Amazingly, the consolidated project is smaller than the other?!
...I don't have to understand that, do I?!
Thanks, bibz! I had no thought on cpu usage with those, because on my desktop machine it hardly moves the cpu meter?!
...sorry about that!

Well it works now so it's fine.Taron wrote:Amazingly, and I really mean Amazingly, the consolidated project is smaller than the other?!...I don't have to understand that, do I?!

Yeah the MFO can be quite cpu intensive. Will try to improve the balance between cpu <-> ram. It's on the todo. Thanks, bibz! I had no thought on cpu usage with those, because on my desktop machine it hardly moves the cpu meter?!...sorry about that!
But there is another thinhg: Taron i noticed you often forget to set a "Main Envelope" in your synth patches which has the consequence that voices will take longer than necessary to finish, so ending up in lots of voices.
If a synth module is overloading wrt voice count it's process LED will turn red. That's the case for the T Dreamy EP patch. About the "Main Envelope", see http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mux/polysynth.html

Taron, what an amazing little project
That voice... !!
Can it be shared as demo project or is it not finished yet? What about the other two little projects we talked about 2 weeks ago. Do u plan to go on with them (just a question) or can they be published as is?

YAY! THANKS, JO!
...the thread is getting some meaty feedback, that's awesome! I had no clue for some reason. Makes me wonder, if certain important things should get some visual indicator, you know. I noticed a certain sparseness of visual clues in the mux anyway for ongoing things. I'd love to see the EVENT INPUT have a little light that indicates incoming signals, for example.
But, yeah, would be nice if there was some sort of switch or toggle on all envelope modules that indicates it as chosen main envelope, since it has such weight. I totally didn't know about it, because- like many users have and will- I've never read the docs!

THANK YOU, again, though! Perfect info! I'll go through all my patches now!
